That is such a shame, says Noel; the Banker would love to beat you, he says. The Banker says it's a one-box game, and there's almost a 40% chance that Tom will hit the £250,000 if he goes on.

Banker's offer:

£8,000

For a regular player, the next offer is 37.5% chance of perhaps low teens and 62.5% of nothing but if he keeps the QM, he could get £20k possibly.

£8k is about the EV of the upper limit of the 5-box offer so I wouldn't begrudge him taking this.

Tom says that's nearly a years wages for him. Barbara says it's a one-box game, and she'd hate to see Tom win a blue. Noel does a sweep on what Tom should do, and it is almost entirely deals. Most of the Pilgrims says deal too.

Before he answers the question, Tom asks if the Banker will throw in a bunch of roses for his wife; the Banker asks how long he would get her for! He agrees. :D

Tom says:

DEAL

Hopefully this won't turn out to be the third biggest Banker victory of all time...

There's only 13 minutes left so hopefully he won't have the £250k. I can see why he dealt too. 37.5% chance of this effectively being game over and the offer is really good for the board.

I just hope he doesn't equal Rob and Katie's record.

Shades of Rob's game (which wasn't one of those victories of course ;) )

Hopefully he'll find the QM before 2-box (and preferably in next round)

He probably will, looking at the time left, only 10 minutes.

We're back...

Round 5 - proveout

Noel says he admires Tom like mad, but will he join Katie Chipchase as the biggest ever loser?

Box 18 with Chloe - £250,000 :D :-D

Absolutely extraordinary, says Noel.

Box 17 with newbie Gill - £10

Box 5 with Ollie - £5

Banker time...

Noel laughs down the phone at the Banker!

Banker's offer would've been:

£500

Box 12 with Bob contains the £50.

Noel says it is a Banker spanking, and he feels privileged to have been part of Tom's game. Tom speaks to the Banker, and thanks him for the experience.

Given there's no live sport right now on C4, I don't know why they didn't put this on just before the Closing Ceremony of the Paralympics.

A game that should be shown to anyone who think DOND is just "a game of opening red boxes"

Dosen't really get much better. Have nothing to say about this man that hasn't already been said, so very well done to you, Tom ! Enjoy the £8,000 !

Thank goodness Noel didn't mention Katie Chipchase while Tom was considering the offer otherwise that might've pressured him into No Dealing.
