To clarify. The average is £3,000. We aren't gonna get offered that. But, given the small sums we are playing with you'd expect to be closer, and the £500/£750 are still there too which are close to it.

Mike mentions him getting £850 so Noel has to mutter "It's £800 actually Mike".

Mike says it's 60% chance ot taking out the £15,000. The banker phones saying it's actually 62.5%.

NO DEAL

Box 15 contains.... 50p

So a little bit of a smile to finish it off.

Pretty unavoidable train-wreck there. The £9,500 was the only offer worth any consideration. Noel says there was no way he'd go there. I think there's a case for dealing there but hey ho.

End of programme.

Oh dear, that was unfortunate. A pretty much unavoidable trainwreck. Shame, as I liked Mike. At least he got a high-ish blue.

And thank you to cfd for another fine commentary job! :smt023

If you ever write commentry again, please don't post complaints about time being taken over a decision. Within reason, the player can think on the decision all they need and do not deserve to be criticized for it.

All a good bit of humour. Be quiet, buddy.

Banker fails at maths! It's 60% chance of taking out the £15k for crying out loud! :x
3/5 = 60% not 62.5%

With cfd's text commentary having rightly proved so popular, I'm tempted to add a more snarky style to the next one I step in to do. :)

Commentary better than the game alas.

Not so sure I enjoy Cfds comments! sorry folks. Has cfd been on the show to know what its like sitting their, considering? Mike thought - not dithered. It should be a pure run-down of the game as I have read previously by other good commentators not silly personal irrelvant commentaries. Not good.

Players obviously can spend as much time thinking about the offers as they want. And they should do. It doesn't mean I always want to see it though as it's not always that interesting to me. It's more of an editing thing. Say a player spends 10 minutes thinking about a substantial offer then I have no problem with that. I do however expect most of this to be cut in the final edit.

Games such as this one where it's just a train-wreck with no real decisions to be made have the problem of having a 1 hour slot to fill so we end up with bits such as Noel standing on the chair to pad the game out a bit. I enjoy that sort of thing. I don't really enjoy watching discussions over a deal where it's pretty much a guaranteed no deal. But in a game where nothing much happened gameplay wise it's hard to avoid this type of thing.

Also of course there's another factor at play. Whilst spending this time thinking the banker is assessing you. I'm of the opinion that if you know you're going to ND the first few offers then they should be quick, confident, no deals. If I was the banker and got the impression that you were actually tempted by low early offers then i'd be more inclined to give you low offers when we reach the "acceptable deal point".

Not so fast, you can gain the banker's respect by thinking long about the offers as we see here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=23784, and when the banker respects you he will offer you more money.
