OH MY GOD!!!!!! That was literally what I shouted at the TV!
Good on her for declining the £77k. That was such a poor offer. I would've wanted at least £110k.

WELL DONE TEGEN! :smt041

Enjoy that cash! :D

That is EXACTLY how the game should be played.

If only the players who had the £250k last week played exactly like today's game....

Amazing game, amazing player. She deserves all of the money, plus 10p more.

For once I cook this early, I get the perfect sidedish of a perfect game.

At risk of being cynical, at least that's one chronically ill person who is insulated from NHS cuts.

Now that I've stopped being cynical, let's point out just how good that was. That was the first time since Laura that a player turned down six offers to win £250k - Alice turned down three offers before accepting the eight-box Deal and the deus ex machina Banker's Gamble, Suzanne had eight offers thanks to the twist.

Laura had a far lower offer than any before or since on comparable finishes, hence the crowd groan at 2-box at the time; Tegen's was (slightly) higher than at least one that had been accepted on the same finish. (Two, I think - I cannot remember the names.)

I'd go as far as to say that was the first "pure" £250k win. I don't think there was a single moment to spoil it from the opening box, which contrasts drastically with all three earlier jackpot wins.

The best game ever? Has to be, surely?

Yes saw this one live (unlike Suzanne), it did have big finish written on it throughout the game but the way it was spun out I thought she would win the £20,000 when she no dealt.

All the tension in that game seemed to be condensed into the last decision.

It was an 'easy' 250K win admittedly but almost certainly the best one.

Thank goodness she didn't listen to that Woman who had a "feeling" about her box.

I do wish people wouldn't say things like that because they can't possibly know what's in their box and if they're right about having a huge amount, then it was a lucky guess but if they're wrong, they could cost the player a fortune. As we saw about a month or so ago when a player was put off choosing one box only to go to another box and destroy her game.

Not many players fail to annoy me at least a little bit with something they say, their attitude or their actions but Tegen didn't annoy me at all. She seemed to be a lovely person who played the game brilliantly and I was so glad she won.

WOAH!!!

How on earth was that not spoiled, someone did say a big win was happening but NO ONE expected that! :D

And Channel 4's stupid continuity announcer just HAD to KILL the mood by telling us about some Essex programme and that utter rubbish, Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. :smt011

I thought it was going to be £20k in the box too. And I think it was 'easy' inasmuch as the decisions were very simple to mathematically justify - but we've seen worse offers taken (including on the same 2-box) on many, many occasions, which wasn't the case for Laura. (Alice was a special case of course with the Banker's Gamble, and by the time Suzanne got dealable offers most people would have played on regardless.)

There's always something that you have to complain about.

On another note - Tegen's replacing Alice on my DoND games site. :P

I'm sure the official site said "Tegan". I only knew it was Tegen because of her Twitter account! I can't recall what it had on her name-badge though.

I missed the show today as I'm away until next week, so thanks to Kes for the commentary. I also missed Suzanne's game too! But I think I make up for it by being on the wings for Alice's game. ;)

Amazing game though - congratulations to Tegen!

It's an extension on not being allowed back into the studio isn't it? You're not allowed to see £250k games as they're shown on the telly. :P
