Once again, a player gets a five-figure result from good play but gets it chalked down as an OBW. This certainly didn't feel like a typical one in any way though.

Respectable game, quite similar to Matt's from last month; a brave 8-box no deal is followed by a small crash and a respectable deal that backfires through having 20k in the box.

I enjoyed that game, that 23K was a VERY tough offer as it was generous although 17K was a no brainer. A similar game to Lynsey's from Dec 2006.

The crash towards 5-box was what did it in the end, I thought we were onto a winner then

The average at 5-box was about £21k so £17k was indeed a generous offer.

At least Boniface showed a bit more warrior spirit than the average greedy contestant who no doubt would have completely ignored the potential to win big at 8 box and grabbed the money and run.

Shame it didn't pay off for him as I like to see bravery rewarded but £17k wasn't a bad result and it was well worth the gamble really. The ending turned out flatter than Suezman's singing voice and the whole show feels dragged out to fill time.

Certainly a very likable character, and I'm happy his game went well. The sudden and unexpected outbursts of Geordie were brilliantly hilarious.

Channel 4 haven't remembered to put today's show on 4OD yet so just going on the commentary for my remarks.

Seemed a sensible deal at 5-box. Average round at 8-box would have been a blue, a low red and the £75k. He was unlucky to take out 2 of the top 3 but got a very generous 5-box offer which was above the EV of the 2-box offer.

A very good game even if it did ultimately go the Banker's way. Boniface was a great contestant, with a good sense of humour, making for an enjoyable show. Both the 8 box and 5 box offers were very dealable, though at the same time the board at 8 box at least was very tempting.I can see why a player would want to push on with that configuration.

Given that the players aren't supposed to know when their name is going to be called it seemed a nice bit of serendipity that Boniface was wearing his traditional Massai warrior garb today. Now i'm not suggesting any conspiracy theories but did the production team plan it that way? I haven't been keeping track but if he wore it say every third show then they could have planned the game around his routine, or alternatively just planned it for one of the three (?) shows to be recorded on that day and slotted it in when they felt he was dressed appropriately. Just idle speculation on my part.

I heard a rumour that the production team pick out the contestants clothes (the ones they choose to bring obviously). Which would solve that.

Or alternatively if not, they just wait until he dresses that way again. He's done so for a fair few shows.

It was obvious that Boniface would play in that attire. Presumably the costume people tell the players what they are going to wear each day and told Boniface to wear that garb a few days of his time, so for it not to be painfully obvious when we was next going to play.
