Noel says that he can't believe the similarity to Em's game here. Well, well, well says the Banker, as he wonders if Charlotte will become number 38 in the 1p club.

Banker's offer:

£2,238

Pushing the 1p angle big time here. Any other blue left to the end with £15k and there's a decision.

Noel tells he wants Charlotte to focus here and think how she would feel winning 1p. Charlotte turns to her boss and has a chat with her.

Charlotte says

NO DEAL

Even with the presence of the 1p, that's a really poor offer. £2,238 would still be low even on a 1p vs £10k finale.

Box 18 with Brenda contains the £15,000

Charlotte becomes the 38th member of the 1p club. Noel says he cannot recall a moment in the shows history when they have had 2 members in the 1p club so quickly.

Ahem....Sally and Connell were quicker Noel, though I guess that is 5 years ago now!!

Hmm, I wonder why Em's and Charlotte's offers were so crap and Fred's were good.

£1,000 at 11-box was 4% of the average. Why is the Banker making such crap offers? :smt019

Good point, James - the cynical rationale for my always-swap policy is starting to look a little more rational again, which I don't like seeing...

What a horrible game, 19 is my favourite number and it keeps having the biggie. What I hate is how we have these 1p games straight after a game where the player could have won mega money.

The parallels with Em's game are hard to ignore - attractive 20-something blonde with a sunny disposition, playing on her 25th show, faced with a blue heavy board, taking out the £250,000 at the exact same point in the game and bringing 1p to the table. It's deja vu all over again!

To be fair to the Banker the offers were - at least in the early stages of the game - relatively generous, certainly compared to similar games last week with quite damaging opening rounds. The problem was the deeper she got into the game the more contemptable the offers became, and while i don't agree with them i do appraciate the thinking behind them. Unlike Em charlotte never had that one damage free round that would have given the Banker an excuse to make a sensible offer and maybe give her an excuse to get out.

With that board and those offers i don't think i would have done anything differently.

I'd disagree. Round 4 was a survival round, and should have provided a decision at maybe £7k. Oh, and the small matter of an all-blue round 6...
