It’s Saturday 10th of June, a wonderful sunny day, England beat Paraguay 1-0 (though not convincingly, but it’s the three points that matter!) and some of us at least are sat at our PC’s watching DonD and trying to provide an online commentary. Kes is unavailable once more, so I’m afraid you’ll have to put up with my ramblings again.

At least DonD is not clashing with tonight’s episode of Doctor Who! There is a “Weakest Link” ‘celebrity’ special on BBC1 very shortly, featuring such talents as BB’s Chantelle, several other rejects from Celebrity BB or Celebrity Fit Club (including Michael Barrymore) while on ITV is the second-half of that mighty World Cup team Trinidad and Tobago playing their opening game against Sweden, which is only really interesting in a “the result might affect England” kinda way. Not much contest about what to watch tonight then!

Don’t forget folks, that DonD is also on tomorrow night (Sunday, 8pm) and that in addition to the normal Monday show at 4.15pm the special ‘Hall of Fame’ edition is on at 8pm, the general pattern for most of the rest of the week except Friday, when the evening show is on at 7.30pm instead.

Today’s contestant is Joan, and I see the special wheelchair access ramp and railing used for Peter’s game yesterday has been dismantled almost as quickly as it was erected by the production crew. I did wonder what they would do when his turn came around! Quite ingenious, though I must confess I didn’t actually notice until I caught the More4 repeat later!

Good luck to Joan, who has box number six, and let’s roll…

Noel lets the phone ring for ages. The banker hangs up before Noel can answer. The banker rings back a second time, and Noel picks up the phone rather more quickly this time.

Joan likes caravans and caravanning. Looks like this subject is going to pop up again and again this evening. :D

The first offer is £8600 :D

Pretty good, but still a no-brainer I think.

Joan says NO DEAL :D

We're back from the break, and it is time to open the next box before we get the next offer from the banker.

Box 22 = £1

Losing the £50000 was a blow, but there are still the three biggest out there somewhere. :D

The banker offers £13,013. :?

Not quite sure about that. The banker wants to know if Joan is supersticious.

Joan says NO DEAL :D

Round three:-

Box 9 = £10

Box 20 = £35000

Box 3 (Ron) = £1000

Not a disaster. Those all-important big three are still there. :D

The banker now offers £20,000 :D

Now that is a serious chunk of money, but like the banker says, it is very hard to tempt anyone out of the chair with the biggest three still in play.

Joan asks the audience (I think that is the wrong show!).

Only one person stands up. The student debt club.

The board is very similar to Lofty's game top three there

Box 17 = £250000 :( :(

It's all going to worms for poor Joan...

Box 5 = £100

Box 1 = £50

Five boxes left. Three reds and two blues. The big money has gone, but the £15K and the £10K are both still there, and £3K is not to be sniffed at. She could of course only have 10p or 50p in her box though. Who knows?

The offer is £2999

Box 19 = 50p

Box 10 = £3000

Box 11 = £10000

It looks like that student in the audience who stood up earlier at the £20K deal was right after all!!

10p or £15000 left.

What a horrible decision. Let's hope the banker will be generous.

The phone rings, but Joan already signals her intentions before Noel picks it up. She is not going to swap.

And box six contains ....

10p :( :( :( :(
