Well that's a relief - he's scraped a TPW, at least the offers weren't too inflated to ensure the TBW! :)

So that would be a player win from a 3rd box deal - a small one given the inflated proveout offers - but a TPW nonetheless.

Bah, sorry about that, was checking on my mobile and can't get a desktop link.

The Fat Boy's list price as quoted on the H-D website was £15,595.

And if this were in live play we would have had a double-stick. Note to Endemol: you are having a budget crisis, goading players on will increase your payout and not necessarily your ratings, stop killing your show.

Noel asks the banker if he knows the cost of the bike G wants, and the banker says it's about £19.5k. G says it's £15,995! The banker says G's poker chip was a £100 one.

Banker's offer would've been:

£100

G has £250 in his box 5.

Box 6 with Karen contains the £50

Noel says the game never fails to amaze him! The banker returns the poker chip to G.

£30k - rubbish.

These proveout offers are needed to prevent the unacceptable type of weak dealing that we saw on Friday.

Dealing at £16k where there was clearly one more round in it, at least, G came across as a cocky prat.

Sure, he got his motorbike dream but his wife was clearly unimpressed as he didn't bother to think about anyone else in the family.

He seems to have come and gone quite quickly, too. I won't miss him.

Well, that was definitely a cautious deal, but, unlike Wilf and Sherilyn, there was justification. I dread to think what would've happened if he's had the 250k!

Website said £15,595, or £15,895/£16,395 with colour options, but may have been £15,995 at time of recording.

Either way you know that the Banker knew it, and was equally willing to twist the knife with the proveout offers to pressure subsequent players into taking chances. It'll take a brave player to walk before 5-box this week now.

He said he didn't want to buy a bike from money he could spend on his family. He was a bit cocky for my liking (saying you've got the £250k in your box from the start is a no-no in my books - it probably gave the banker the justification for the inflated proveout offers as he could have claimed he would have been scared).

I'm sure you said something very similar in Dan Judge's game... :eyes:

£16k was a pretty good offer at that point with a fairly unstable board - think I'd have done the same as G.

The FD was just above £11k at that point. I wonder if DEAL-EYE would've gone at £16k too.

Nah, he's just an exception cause it was perfectly timed ;)

The rest of the third offer deals however, not good

What about 9k Sharon from May last year? She got an OPW after dealing her third offer! ;)

Should been the 4th, 5th or 6th.

You've been brainwashed by Noel. People who deal at the 3rd offer do a lot better that Noel makes out with his "3rd offer bad" propaganda.

:smt046.

G is still awesome for having a one-letter nickname.

For the non-Twitter users here, I thought I'd share this conversation between our very own Simon F and the official Banker's account:

Quote:
Simon F: £30k on that 5-box board???? More like £20k in live play. Want to swear on your teddy that would have been the offer?

Banker: I've made offers as low as 10 and as high as 50 on that board. If I say it would be 30 then it would be. Other opinions are moot.

Very interesting game, and G was a very likable guy. He came for his dream, and he got out of dodge when he realised he could fulfill it, and I say kudos to that.

I was kind of hoping the banker would indeed make an offer before the game started, but I think we all knew he never would.

BTW, I do believe Bev in June 2008 dealt at the 3rd offer as well and got the OPW. Wasn't a popular decision then amongst some, but it was certainly the right one.
