Offer reverts to type. Would have been a good trick to get her out if he tried that at the ADP.

You got away with that says Noel. The Banker focuses on the £75,000 going, and says that Sam has been protected by her good start.

Banker's offer:

£12,000

8 boxes to open and still 26 minutes to go. Somethings not quite right here.

Noel asks Sam what half of £12,000 is, and Sam replies that it is a school. Her dad thinks it is a lot of money, but there is one more round in it. The Banker calls and asks to see a picture of the kids again that Sam helped with, and says it would be a terrible thing for their teacher to lose their school!

Sam says

NO DEAL

I seriously wish Noel didn't mention the cost of the school.

She can't breakout of the £12k barrier even with such a strong board with the lowest being £250 which suggests they are worried if they put an offer closer to £20k she might say deal. It does suggest that low blues numbers on the board are somewhat irrelevant to the actual offers. More down to the fact they worry about the scenario of low/early dealers and keep the offers down accordingly.

We're back

Noel runs through the game so far and talks about how Sam is going to give half of her winnings to charity.

Round 5

2 - £3,000 Jonny

Sam says that there is something about box 1 and she doesn't know what to do about it.

12 - £500 Ian

You've nearly got the perfect round says Noel

21 - £250 Ade

Banker time

The stage is set for this show to make a spectacularly dangerous conflation of philanthropy and risk-taking. It's one thing linking the value-neutral "risk" with the value-loaded "courage", but risk and philanthropy are bordering on opposites!

The offer should be easily the governor territory!

Yes, all red five box! Which means it's very worth going all the way to the end, with two of the power five still in play.

That was the perfect round says Noel. The Banker says there was a less than 2% chance of that happening.

Banker's offer:

£24,000

Totally agree, but she could almost build 'one school' but thats the worst case scenario. An easy no deal though with that board. Strongest Ive seen in a while at 5box

Sam turns to her family, her dad says you always have to gamble in the game and he thinks she has already gambled. Daryll says that Sam could find that if she no deals she might have to play all the way to the end to see that sort of money again, but then he feels things are going her way again now.

Sam says

NO DEAL

The all-red board makes it easier to play on, rightly or wrongly... No surprise that she is playing on. I would like to see a mid-red OBW so they can't spin "courage" too easily but it's still a good financial result. A crash this round and a positive ending would do it, but look at the clock...
