Dougie's game today.

Noel wishes us a happy Easter. He talks about how on Sundays we sometimes get people who don't watch during the week, so he likes to talk a little more about the contestants.

Not sure whether it's an advert length quirk but the shows only 55 minutes today.

Big surprise that Dougie's playing today IMHO - it's only his 18th show...

Dougie has box 4 today.

Dougie is from Wales, he has his wife in the audience for support and she talks about how he is rugby mad. He really got into it when he was about 21 and now coaches a youth team. Dougie has a little red dragon with him for a mascot as he has heard the Banker is a little nervous of the Welsh. :P We get to see a picture of Dougie's children, and another of his late parents.

Here we go....

Should have been Anthony but I guess they didn't want 2 statisticians in a row.

Round 1

Dougie is keeping box 5,7,8 and 16 to the end.

Dougie nearly picks on his favourite numbers, so Noel writes them on his hand in permanent marker pen!

2 - £750 Ziggy

3 - 50p Harry

15 - £250 Sue

Dougie again nearly picks one of his numbers, so Noel writes it on Dougie's head!

17 - £100,000 Suzanne

Banker time

Oh, dear - did Noel jinx it when he went on about sting-in-the-tail rounds? :( ;)

The Banker wishes everyone one a happy Easter, and asks Noel if he has had any eggs as he has had lots of eggs today. He chose Dougie to play today as he looks like an egg! The Banker says that the Welsh are trouble and always turning up in Bristol, but the worst thing about them is that they always take his money.

Banker's offer:

£8,500

Have I missed something? I don't remember Anthony giving any statistical insight further than counting how many Power 5 amounts there are left on the board...

Sorry, I've confused Anthony with Iain.

EDIT - not quite the banker's words but

You've really got to be happy with that says Noel. The Banker says that there are too many Welsh pilgrims in today, and that gets a lot of boos

Banker's offer:

£11,750

Does anyone have any idea why the Banker likes to offer multiples of £250??!

Dougie says that is a lot of money and nearly a years wages for him. He talks about his job is a vacuum cleaner factory where they refurbish old ones to be resold.

Dougie says

Yes. The point I was making is that I'm baffled by the fact that people have been talking Anthony up as a great statistician, when all I've seen him do is count the number of blues and reds remaining. Is he getting a bad edit?

I bet that if DOND never produces a male quarter-millionaire, Noel will say that's the thing that disappointed him most about the show...  ;)
