A matter of extreme irony. Her winning are going to make her heating allowance look wonderful!

Nothing if £10's in the box - not surprised at all there...

£10 to win £1000 on a 50/50 shot. No brainer of gamble.

Noel says he wishes he could influence the game and loved how Vera came with ambitions of just being able to pay her heating bill.

The Banker then rings up and has another proposition.

If there's £10 in Vera's box she'll go away with nothing, but if there's £100 in the box he'll add £1,000 to it.

Vera DEALS "The Banker's Proposal"

That means if she has £10 in her box she will win nothing, but if it's £100 he'll add £1,000 to it.

Vera goes home with nothing and becomes the 8th person to win nothing at all.

Box 7 with Natalie has £100.

Vera says she's enjoyed every moment of DoND and she's loved Noel for over 40 years.

Noel asks for a hug from Vera and forgoes his usual speech to camera.

The type of game that has a 5-box twist that goes horribly wrong at the first box and then even the attempt to manufacture some sort of feel good ending fails. Not much that she could about that to be honest.

Thanks for doing the commentary today Mike, you did a great job. :D The edits were only because I was being fussy. ;)

And now you know what it's like to commentate a "twisty" game!

In a way it's almost good that the twists backfired so badly as it will probably mean they play the game straight for a while after this. Doesn't make this game any more bearable though, a totally unavoidable trainwreck.

And as I typed this on a train I severely hope that was not an omen. :O

By the way, any idea why Vera called Anthony "Bobby"? :ponder: I'm just watching it now on 4+1...

Oh that had "nothing" written all over it once the £50,000 went...you couldn't feel the slightest bit of wind in her sails once it went...

Total bad luck. Simple as.

Mike, that was great - similar to when I do commentaries (trying to include as much as possible) - great stuff :)

I knew I had made some formatting errors here and there in my rush and was planning to tidy it up at the end, but you saved me a job.

I was trying to include as much info as I could and keep up with the game with as few mistakes as possible, though a few slipped through.

Yeah, trust me to have to get a "twisty" one box at a time game, with propositions and "Mad Vera". So much for a nice normal game I asked for.

I didn't even realise at the time and just assumed there was a Bobby.

Maybe you could do a +1 commentary.
