Oh no, that would have been the perfect round, and you would have been guaranteed £35,000 says Noel. The Banker says you have got to love £16,000.

Banker's offer would've been:

£66,000

Box 12 with Olivia contains the £100,000

Noel wonders if the Banker has now managed to get the governor down from £26,000 to £16,000 now.

Whew! Least it wasn't the £100,000!

I'm not sure what I'd have done with the final offer; with a guaranteed £35,000 I'd normally gamble but £66,000 would have been so close to the average...but I definitely wouldn't have swapped so it wouldn't have been six figures for me!

What an afternoon...watching Stoke finally make it to Wembley, seeing Mr Golden Boot still on top form despite Toby Flood vying for his place, and an interesting edition of Deal! :)

Wow, so she had the £35k so hit the unlucky scenario of keeping the £100k in the wings which made it seem a worse decision than it actually was.

And how on earth can Noel claim £16k is the new governor when there was not a chance she would have got £26k on a board with a mean of only a couple of thousand more than that.

£66,000 my a***! That offer is 98% of the average. No way the Banker would offer that high in live play. I think it would have been about £50k.
But £16,000 was very dealable. I didn't expect the £8,000 to be doubled after 2 reds and 1 blue.

We all take that on board, Simon...but of course he means the Banker is getting a lot of people out with £16,000 in recent times...and Noel just talking up the traits of the show and trying to make something new

Time team on now. Only thing I can think is an extended news tonight because of the events in Japan that has caused the schedule change.

The show was apparently brought forward by 30 mins in order to slot in a special programme about the events in Japan...

Hear Hear. Its beginning to sound a little cheesy now. Nothing has changed in 1500+ games with the randomness so the fact that we keep hearing this £16k figure talked up all the time just seems to be a way of seeding doubt in peoples minds and saving them some cash.

Only understandable...

I'm sure with H's help we can have it moved to the News thread in GD...but while we're all here, what does everyone think about the horrific events of Friday over in Japan?

I'd heard Chinese whispers the quake had caused the Earth's axis to shift

I saw the videos on BBC News. Oh dear, the power of that Tsunami was UNBELIEVABLE! Apparently, it was travelling at 150MPH!
It certainly did cause severe damage and a whole town has vanished. :(

Well Adam got called a reckless idiot for no-dealing £16k on a similar 5-box but with the £5k there instead of Debbie's £3k, ended up hitting the 10% chance of disaster and people seemed really happy he's crashed and burned. :?

Now Debbie deals the same offer, hits the 10% chance the other way - and I bet some of same people who dissed Adam will call Debbie a pathetic cautious dealer or whatever.........

Albeit my Mark jest, I did say anything over £15,000 was dealable IMO...it was certainly a well-placed offer because it was never going to hit the dizzy heights of £20,000 and the Banker really is on a roll with this £16,000 malarky :|

I really do not think that. I'd have done the same thing. I'd have been scared of that £100,000 going.

Oh, and this Governor rubbish really has got to stop. Last year, £21,500 was the new Governor and now £16,000?!

I understand the seriousness of the events of Japan but I'm very surprised that this extended news was a last minute decision. Very unusual for the Freeview and Sky EPG's not to be updated.
