I think re the odds. It would be 1 in a big number if there were 5 Noels 5 x sets of 22 numbers, 5 x sets of pilgrims, 5 players all playing simultaneously and all ended up with £50 in their box. Otherwise as they said its 1 in 22.

So what if the last four days are irrelevant?

If 5 days ago you were to say "what are the odds of it coming to the table 5 games in a row" then you'd get the answer you specified - presumably multiplied by 22, i've not really checked the number to see which you went for.

But now we're here the chances of it being in the box are (now) 1 in 10 - and thus the chance of £50 being on the table 5 games in a row is now at this point 1 in 10, well, 1 in 9 now that's just been revealed.

So yeah, the chances are still small cos 1 in 8 (another box opened!) is still a long shot. But it's nothing like the astronomical number it'd be 5 days ago.
