The banker tries to guess Ellen's target, and he suggests £20,000, but she says it's a bit more than that. He warns that Ellen will be chasing the money if this goes wrong. Ellen's daughter says it's a nice sum of money, and Ellen says she doesn't know if she can go on another round.

Ellen says

NO DEAL

Will you be converting to colour one day?

Analogue! thats so old school. When are you changing over to the other side :-)

There's nothing wrong with analogue, and yes it's colour. :P We can't get Freeview here yet (despite living only a few miles from a major town), and can't be faffed with satellite dishes. Presumably the Freeview signal will get boosted when this area gets changed over in July.

£16k isn't enough on this board for me.

Well yes its a very good board at this stage. I was just thinking she would play cautious with the risk of losing 250k. But If she keeps. 250k, 75k and 50k? she will be seeing the £26k for sure(more if the banker thought she would be brave enough for a further gamble. .

The FD at 8-box was about £22,000 so £16,050 is such a rubbish offer!
Come on, where is that £50? :P

The chance of the £50 coming to the table for the 5th time in a row is 1 in 5,153,652!

The board is far too strong to take £16,050 but as it's just been stated, a big hit here would see the offer stay around the same mark if not lowered...

...£50 going now would surely send it north of £25,000?

And if the £50 is still there it could well be £26,050...

Nooooo. The chance of the £50 coming 5 times in a row may well be 1 in 5m.

Having already appeared 4 times the chance of it coming for the 5th time at the beginning of the game is 1 in 22.

It's an important difference.

And wow this is potentially going to collapse...

Survived it. I expect her to deal a reasonable bail out here.

Well she won't be getting the governor now. She will be lucky to get a stick if the banker is playing awkward!

£10,050 perhaps. Just psychologically above the second highest amount.

The banker says he thinks Ellen's brave, as he was convinced she'd deal the last offer.

Banker's offer:

£8,050

Meh. Average is £18k so £8k isn't great. High variance though. I think I probably just about take this if I'm playing.

awww. i feel really sorry for her. She was brave to go on the last round. So much for my prediction that she would deal at 8 or 5 box.

Do you mean 'deal' rather than 'no deal' H?

She'll probably take this...

Tough call this. Around the FD so well pitched. Wouldn't blame her for either decision here but I'm nervous that if the £50 doesn't go this round, she might not get an offer and just be offered the SWAP.

Ellen says that's a great offer and thanks the banker. Noel says this could be seen as a lifeline. Ellen's daughter tells her not to rush things, and to think of her kitchen! Ellen says she's won a couple of grand at bingo, but never as much as £8,050. Alex asks Ellen how she'd feel when the £8,050 cheque arrived, and she says she'd be really happy. Alex says her game could be destroyed and asks her to imagine what she'd do with the money.

Ellen says

DEAL
