Clever asking about an all blue round, but thats going to be a big ask. I don't think he will deal with the 250k on the board. Too many regrets if it survived another round.

The Banker says that £12,500 would be the highest offer Vel could have if he takes out the £250,000 in the following rounds. Vel talks about the turbulent times he has recently and he has been made redundant a couple of times recently and is now working on his own project of an arts and culture website. Vel says he is drawn to the £250,000, but he had it in his box yesterday and the 1p is still lurking. Noel says this isn't easy. Chris tells Vel to ask the Banker what the offer would be if he has an all-blue round in the next round. The Banker calls back and says he would be reaching for £21,000 again.

Vel says

NO DEAL

That was an astonishing round says Noel. The Banker says that was a huge last box.

Banker's offer:

£20,000

Hard choice to make. However, hopefully he is thinking a lot about the amount that he had yesterday, the £250k.

That is serious money says Vel. He goes to the pilgrims who think he should deal. Noel talks about how Vel has personalised the game now and how the pilgrims appreciate what the money means to Vel.

Vel says

DEAL

I love this game says Noel

Banker's offer would've been:

£160

Frank with box 15 contains the £250

You've gone away with the best result in your game says Noel, and Vel says that his daughter Daisy is going to be so thrilled with the result and he can't wait to see her.

Me humble pie for me

Can't blame Vel for dealing, even without hindsight but that was a little tight teasing him with £21,000 and only offering £20,000!

OK I'm reading properly sorry

An all-blue round would have meant an offer of £21,000..a round of 1p, £10,000 and £3,000 meant an offer of £20,000...yeah I really can't blame him for dealing now I've understood properly!

Caught this from just before the last break on C4 + 1 just after getting in from work - that was a brave no-deal at 8-box given his financial situation and how isolated the £250k was (it reminded me of a slightly-less volatile version of Ovie's situation to be honest), so glad the banker rewarded him by going up even though he took out a couple of useful lowish reds. Good blend of sensible risk-taking then dealing when it got even more risky, well played - though I dread to think of the reaction on here if the £250k had remained to 2-box, let alone be in his box! :)

Really enjoyed Vels game today. Was interesting to hear noel comment that he didnt think vel looked like a gambler and yet every comment I've heard him say in the wings appears to suggest he was a bit of a gambler.

Its also apparent the show's trying to lower the generally acceptable dealable amount. So a board which would normally attract 26k gets "the key"? 21k. Presumably if thats rejected and the player has a good round only then will the banker roll out the governor when in the past he would have been reaching deeper into his pockets.

Is it just me that thinks Vel has a bit of a resemblance to Paul McKenna. :ponder:
