But that's my biggest bug bite...not the players believing they have £250,000 in their box in itself, but being proved wrong by finding it...coz on the surface you'll never know whether or not they actually intended to go for it

Well I don't like it at all when a player believes before their game starts that they have the £250k in their box.

Reeks a bit of cockiness IMHO...

I disagree entirely...belief is what players need if they want to win big money...simple as. Statisticians and targetists simply aim for the £20,000 mark and pray they reach it

But for the record, yes there are plenty of players who breathe hot air talking up their belief of having big money on the table...but do you blame them when all they're trying to do is get as much out of the game as possible without involving big risks?

But it still comes across as a bit of a silly belief.

One-box game now...the Shield will certainly come in handy from now, unless the Shield-implied box contains the £50,000..

Darrel asks Dylan what he should do about the Shield, and he says he should just go for it. Noel says the shield is impotent because of this board, and Darrel says he reckons he could have the £50k in his box.

It's a clever move, £950 is a pittance even with 4 blues in play...the Shield is simply asking to be used and as we've mentioned before, the holiday opportunity really wants to be used up!

The shield is all-BUT impotent...if Darrel at any point wants to cut his losses (providing the £50,000 isn't found), the Shield can still give him an extra offer!

But Darrel is blatantly an OHO player...so good luck to him!

So Noel does get to pull out the Sword... before the Shield is played...

Darrel wants to use the Shield with Nick now, and he'll get an immediate offer. Nick has to guess what's in his box, and if he's right then he wins a holiday. The banker phones and tells Noel to reveal what the holiday is, and it's an all-inclusive week for 2 to Cuba. Nick says he's guessed from the start that he has £50,000, and he says if he's right then he wants Darrel and his girlfriend to have the holiday! Nick guesses £50,000.
