There was a 50% chance of taking one of the two big Reds out which is very high. Even if she avoided them in the first box, the chance would then be 66%.
When I heard Noel mention Old Friend, I was thinking :smt019 to that! But then £30,000 made that a dealable offer.

Thought she'd made a mistake as it was probably worth going on with just one blue but she did well fair play! Right decision

What's an OPW, BTW?

"Outright Player Win", where a player takes the highest amount possible from their game (whether by dealing or going to the end). This is what gets called a "Banker Spanking" on the show; the term OPW originates from 2006 from commentators on Bother's Bar. (Other game classifications exist, and are often used on this forum: OBW (Outright Banker Win) for where a player sells their box for a loss, or goes to the end and fails to secure an OPW; TBW (Technical Banker Win) for where a player sells their box for a profit, but for less than half the game's peak offer; and TPW (Technical Player Win) for where a player sells their box for a profit, and for more than half the game's peak offer, but could still have won more.)

After three frustrating games, this was badly needed! :D :D :D

Guess the Banker doesn't like this year's Love Week quite as much now.

But STILL no holiday has been given away...

I know it wasn't...but given this dire run of bad timing in games (either dealing too early or trainwrecking) it makes Dale's game feel an age away

Will we ever see Noel pull out the Sword of Love? Possibly on Sunday? They surely can't leave it there unused.
Oh yeah, offering Vicki's holiday with the £6,000 was downright out of order! :smt011

Best game of the week, no question.

Aside from the fact that Patricia was brilliantly bonkers, she used the Shield of destiny very smartly leading to a perfectly timed deal. To be fair with 2 mega-reds and a decent back up going on wouldn't have been insane but £30,000 was a very respectable offer and I certainly couldn't see myself turning it down. Given that some players this week have been very unlucky in the proveout it was great to see such an irrefutable victory over the Banker.

Also i suspect i'm in the minority here but i love the Banker's mindgames, it's a long time since he's tried to coax a contestant out of the chair by offering compensation to a previous player and while it was never going to work on Patricia i do like to see the reaction to those guilt trips

Perfect timing. A player who makes out that she's a gambler but then uses the shield of destiny and then deals after using it (had she used it at 5 box with a £100k/£15k/£1 board, the offer would be have been about £20k maximum).
