Yes, he can and he's done it before.

Wow - evil banker tactics.

I'd be well cheesed off if playing and that happened.

I think she'll go on regardless of the fluff :) btw, has anyone noticed the offer at this stage is higher than it would have been last week under a Santa scenario.

There are no rules. If people can persuade the banker to up offers, he must have the opportunity to drop them too.

The banker rings back and says that's a lesson to everyone, and there's only one person in charge, and that's him! Lucie asks Haroon, who says he'd go for it. The banker rings back again and speaks to Lucie's partner again.

Subtitles come on the screen and reveal what the banker's saying. The banker tells Lucie's partner that if she can convince Lucie to deal at £20,000, then he'll give her £22,000, but Lucie mustn't find out about this. Lucie's partner tries to convince her to deal at £20,000 and talks about how angry the banker is.

The banker phones back again and talks to Lucie's partner again. Subtitles come on screen again, and he says he'll actually give £25,000 if she convinces Lucie to deal. Lucie tells her partner not to get wound up by the banker.

Well this is an interesting way to fill up the extra 12 minutes but with a psychologist playing, it's just about acceptable.

Well it's worked and it was very worth going on. Hopefully it's the right choice.

I think £25k would have been a deal for me on that board. The proveout will be fascinating now.

The banker says he's loving all of this.

Banker's offer would've been:

£15,000
