Noel goes over to the 3 snowmen, one has a yellow scarf, one has a red scarf, and the other green. If Jen finds the SANTA he can play the final round 1-box at a time before getting an offer, but if he finds the Scrooge the Banker gets to look inside his box and he has to open all 3 boxes in the final round before getting an offer.

Jen chooses GREEN which contains SCROOGE :(

RED contains SANTA

YELLOW contains SANTA

The Banker now gets to look inside Jen's box. A polar bear takes the box and away and returns it with the Banker's seal on it.

Noel tells Jen not to allow the Banker to mess with her head too much now. The Banker calls and says he knows what Jen has now, and she is also guaranteed the SWAP at the end and he would advise her to take the swap!

Banker's offer:

£750

Amazing says Noel, the Banker says Jen had 50p in her original box and she actually swaps her box and brings it to the table!

Box 3 with Jay contains the £5,000

Jen breaks down into tears and says she is gutted as she thought 13 was her lucky number, and it won't be from now on.

yes. amazing pyschological trick by the banker. to get her to swap 20k for 50p or the 5k. Even if you were rooting for her, you have to hand it to the banker for that play.

Right, let's whizz through the irrelevant bits of this game.

At 17-box: yes, it's middling. Banker reminds us of this week's other twist in an attempt to make this look like a slightly higher speedbump than it is. Still, at least it's actually a reasonable offer - presumably to make sure she blindly chases the game if she faces four-figure offers late in proceedings.
At 14-box: this game still hasn't taken its decisive turn, but an exposed top three is an adequate position at this point. Offer creeps up, as expected.
At 11-box: Ouch. Right, now we'll get £NAFF_OFF. Three grand. Told you.
At 8-box: Unlucky to hit the top box when she did, but she has a mid-red backup, at least. Offer is again useless, and now we see why the early offers were perfectly fine - she's got something to chase so she doesn't stop at five-box.

Or at all, after that round. The lack of four-box and three-box offers is fairly irrelevant; the psychology may or may not be. And it is; an unexpected mid-round swap. How very Franco-Italian. Noel intervenes with the box selection, and the highest amount goes. How very... is there another version where the host intervenes even more consistently than Noel does? I think the Italian version is one, actually...

50p in the box to top it all off. The good news for the players due to play soon is that on past history, Endemol are going to change course and gift a couple of big wins to ensure the show at least retains the illusion of being a feel-good show. Definitely at this time of year, anyway. If I were on the wings now, I'd really want to play as soon as possible!

Poor Jen. Unfortunately she fell victim to the Banker's mind games and effectively cheated herself out of a big win. Though i suspect she would have swapped at two box anyway, if she had kept the £20k in play at least she would have (hopefully) earned an other worth dealing.
