The issue is now that the banker has introduced the unprovoked 4 box offer (or perhaps 3 box indeed), it will appear on a more and more erratic and irregular basis - not to the point the game utilises a permanent 5-3-3-3-3-1-1-1 system, but whenever it suits the banker. Which is a prospect I am not willing to see...

I would much rather either see permanent 3 box rounds OR permanent 1 box rounds. NOT an unsettled series of both which the banker can utilise whenever he feels like it. It might not seem very powerful at first but as we have witnessed with Olympia, it can be used as an instant get-out 'take the money now' offer, which denies us the tense 3-to-go rounds we are normally used to and in the bankers eyes, it stops the player from potentially winning a power 5 sum, or dealing hall of fame worthy offers. Gambling at 5 box will no longer be the same because of this, and consequently we may not see half as many tense 2 box situations like we used to. Hell, we were denied one in this very game!

Do you think any of the 100k+ dealers would have got into the situation they did, if the banker offered them significant amounts of money more, from just opening 1 box after turning down the offer-of-5? Where the removal of the blue had increased the mean a significant amount? Jennifer and Graeme spring to mind. However much of a gambler they were to decline generous offers in the first place, who's to say a 4 box or 3 box offer wouldn't tempt them?

In my opinion, by request, or by gimmick, it's acceptable. But otherwise it's more of a trick up the banker's sleeve which will only be negative in my eyes unless assigned to a rule.
