Noels says Kat has an unbelievable 5-box.

Kat says she's going to put her winnings on number 10 in Vegas!

That deal was too soon...and even more cautious than yesterday's, this is honestly not helping lifting our spirits for the birthday week :(

Okay, like pretty much everyone I wasn't expecting that deal and with the benefit of hindsight Kat clearly went one round too soon, but that board was precarious with the £75k & £250k horribly exposed, if the £20,000 had still been in play i would have said play on definately but as it was...

I think Kat made the right decision for her and at the end of the day that is what really counts.

I'm so glad we're seeing such characters, not just 'courageous' players (though Orry was undoubtedly such a player, he also lost big time), appearing on the Official Birthday Week.

How frequent is it to remarry the same spouse you've previously divorced, I wonder... anyway, it's not the best of starts, and the second round doesn't improve things much either, but not for the first time this week, the jackpot is making all the difference. Six grand at 14-box isn't bad considering; we may get a dealable third offer if this is all-blue. Which it very nearly is, and the offer isn't quite dealable in my book. Without the £20k on the board, it would be very dealable indeed.

And there goes that rock. It's the only red hit in the round, though, so we have a classic two-box game at eight-box scenario. Noel somehow suggests the game is 'only slightly improved', the offer goes up by 65%, Noel praises the offer, and oh look - a Deal. Good decision in my opinion; it's about the same offer as we got yesterday, and it's a marginally worse board.

"Noel says he was surprised at that decision, as were a lot of others." Oh, now that the player has Dealt, he's done a 180 and gone into instant guilt-trip mode. And now apparently the five-box board is 'unbelievable'. Not as much as the offer is; inflated by probably 25% (a double to £33k would have been as likely as anything in live play). Blue/£75k finish is set up for either a Banker's Gamble or a lie, we get the latter, but the blue in the box shuts the usual suspects up.

Incidentally, Kat would be completely irrational to put her winnings on a roulette wheel; it's the equivalent of turning down about 105% of the mean on DoND, when she accepted approximately 40% of the mean in her game. I'm sure she was being flippant, but it bears stating.

Yesterday in the 'What would you have done' thread I wrote:
Would always have taken £16k at 8-box but I've had asked the banker for a guarantee for keeping the 2-biggies to 5-box just to prevent a hypo-lie.

And it applies to today's game. £30k at 5-box but certainly not £44k.

At least for the second day running, the blue was in the box.

I don't disagree - but who else thought there was some degree of predictability about it?

After all, when it happened, it was fast approaching 4:50...

kat is one of these players that the banker seems to label a gambler. I suppose a good way of making a likeable player go home with a nice amount. When his tatics for genuine gamblers can be to keep the offers low to lure them to the end. 44k at 5 box was too much in live play, but he probably would have given her a generous offer. I'm not sure 26k at two box was a lie though. He may well have given her that.
