This won't be great news says Noel, and this is one match where you did get it wrong.

Banker's offer would've been:

£27,500

Hitch says that if he got to this stage in real play he would have gone for the SWAP, and asks if the Banker would have offered it. The Banker calls and says he would have only offered the swap if Hitch talked to him and so far he hasn't wanted to talk to the Banker. Hitch agrees to talk to the Banker and the Banker agrees he would offer the SWAP.

Hitch says he would have taken the SWAP.

Noel SWAPS Hitch's box 21 for box 10.

Noel opens Hitch's new box 10 and reveals £50

Box 21 with Aimee contains the £75,000

That is fantastic says Noel, and Hitch says he is thrilled with the £17,500.

I can imagine the offer going up a few grand at 2-box, but 10...?!

Yup, that's what happens when Noel states the outcome before it's assured; as soon as I saw the finish, I thought "we're now going to get either a Banker's Gamble, or a joke". Noel made certain which.

Still, that might ironically have spared us a blue win, and at least the hypo-swap was used with the big money on the table, as that dents any conspiracy about it being used to ensure a guilt trip either way...

Yeah, I generally don't approve of hypo-swaps but at least this one threw the proveout lie back in the banker's face. Plus it was at least requested by the player, rather than Noel forcing it on him.

The other good thing about it was just as Noel was starting a guilt-trip - "I had a feeling about you" etc - Hitch suddenly piped up about swapping at that point and stopped him in his tracks! :laughing

The first 4 offers seemed out of Trick Or Treat week, and the 5-box offer seemed generous for the board so no real problems with the deal. Overall, not a perfect result but a game that went some way to picking up everyone's spirits after a couple of downbeat games with results to match, and one that makes Hitch one of the luckier boxers on the show by some way!

£27,500 on a £75k/blue finish? Not a chance in live play.

I don't mean to sound like a broken record but the sooner we have a hypo-"Deal or No Deal question" to accompany a hypo-swap, the better.

Not a bad game, a respectable deal for the board. I was half-expecting the Banker's Gamble at the end though, I even expected him to throw it in at the end when he asked to speak to Hitch (wouldn't be the first time we've had a proveout offer and the BG)

Yes, well that was a good game until the hypo swap, which I absolutely hate - once the banker has bought your box on the table, it's logical to see what it contains, not another box on the wings. Irrelevant anyway, as Simon says it's highly unlikely he'd have turned down £27,500.

Well played anyway, and sensible deal.

To be honest I thought the whole hypo swap thing was as a reposte to the proveout offer lie, so if the banker doesn't play on with honesty, why shouldn;t the contestant? :)

James, think you just summed the game up perfectly!

Least I wasn't here watching this...
