Noel says that was a replica of the last round, and was shocking bad luck. The banker says he's seen lots of brave decisions, and Savy was brave but was hit by bad luck.

Banker's offer:

£600

Savy says she's always said she'd never play the game to the end! The banker wasn't expecting to be in this position.

Banker's offer:

£3,250

Box 17, now with Damian, contains the £10,000

Noel says £10,000 would've been a sensational result from this game.

That's a bit harsh - I think she was too nervous really, she didn't ever seem completely at ease.

Yes, she seemed a bit ill at ease and not fully prepared for the consequences of her game going wrong, she seemed negative even on the really strong 11-box board, and somehow that seemed to translate into bad luck with the boxes, compounded by the nasty swap. Not that fun a game, despite Noel's best efforts.

This show was filmed about 6 months ago - there probably weren't any poppies available for them then.

Savy said she didn't think she's ever go to the end in her game but she never really got a good enough offer to prevent her doing that (8-box was a poor offer compared to the £9k Ann got yesterday on a worse board).

Interesting that Noel made this remark at 11-box:

Quote:
Noel says it'd be quite a board to walk away from and he wouldn't want her to miss out on a larger sum.

Not so much goading as paternalistic, saying "Savy, I want you to win a lot of money, and I wouldn't want you to leave here disappointed that you could have had more."

As soon as I read that in the recap I knew the game would crash...

Simon, last year we wore poppies for a week. We had also had the birthday show by this point. I wonder if they've lost track as to when the shows are airing due to schedule changes that they were aware could be happening.

They're putting the birthday shows on towards the end of the month this year - they're doing a week of them as it's the 5th anniversary, probably showing them later as not to be too soon after the Halloween shows. Not sure why they've not gone for poppies this year, unless they didn't keep the ones from last year and couldn't get any more at the time. :?

Given that Noel states the date of transmission before each show, I don't think they would have forgotten it was 11/11 today.
