He's going to punish you now says Noel. The Banker says he is delighted that Ann said no deal to his last offer of £9,000.

Banker's offer:

£4,000

Ann turns to her family, and her daughter says she is going to cry, her husband says that Ann wanted to come away with some money. Ann then asks for a moment and leaves the studio with her husband to get some fresh air, they have a chat about the offer and then return to the studio. Noel then jokes with Ann that while she was out of the studio the Banker called back and upped the offer to £12,000 as he wants to finish early today, then Noel says he didn't really! The Banker calls back and says even he isn't that cruel to do something like that! Noel says that this is a gamble now, and she has to consider which is the biggest regret now.

Ann says

DEAL

The Banker rubs Noel's nose in it for his joke earlier!

Banker's offer would've been:

£12,000

Predictable deal IMHO - with the end result that for the second day running, the player blows it...

It all went horribly wrong by 5-box...what else can you say?

Nice to see the lovely scenic views of the outside of the Dream Factory again. One of those deals at 5-box which made you wonder why she didn't take the £9k at 8-box which was a better offer (and only a 35.7% chance of getting a higher offer)

While Sky and the BBC compete to rewrite history as it unfolds before them in central London, Channel 4 are showing months-old coverage of Noel Edmonds rewriting history in inner suburban Bristol.

Oh good, a female player. Noticed how Noel talked about players getting carried away when Pat (female) played, deliberately didn't intervene when Christine (female) was badly torn, but blatantly intervened when Jeron (male) considered Dealing? Funny that.

Anyway, Ann shares a name with someone who played exactly the way Noel wanted back when Dan was on the wings, and also with one of the forum's remaining vocal advocates of risky play. No, Noel, the Banker didn't "get away with it", he made a stunningly generous offer and it was his caution that was rewarded, rather than Jonathan's caution being punished.

Noel talks up the visual interest at 15-box, and acknowledges at 14-box that this board is bad. The offer certainly is. At 13-box, that's one of the worst boards you'll see in some time - £5k the third highest at 13-box? Ye-ouch. The Banker, after lowballing the last one, has allowed himself room to play the deceiver card, going up from £NO_DEAL after the £250k has gone. Not going to work pre-ADP, though. Would he be able to "buy a sensible person [out] for less than £5,000"? I'd want pretty much exactly that on this board.

All-blue! Now we're talking... and we go some way up... and even further up! Nine grand is probably enough for me, but Ann is chasing this, and with all three oranges in tow you can at least justify that.

But now £75k has gone, you're going to get a punishment offer. There we go. And she deals it. Should've gone earlier. And after all that, Noel inadvertently set up the proveout offer.

£35k in the box is frustrating, but the bad decision today was not that she didn't go all the way, but that she dealt the £4k instead of the £9k. One of those players who seemed to only understand the disaster scenario when it's glaringly obvious.

Well, however you look at it Ann went either one round too early or one round too late (no way was she the type of player to go all the way & open her box, not on that configuration) . That was for me a slightly uncomfortable 5-box with the family meltdown, not the worst we've ever seen - no-one berated her for turning down £9k and no-one fainted - but still not easy viewing for this fan.

Had a feeling Noel's pratical joke was going to come back and bite him, with the £35k in play the final offer was always going to be £12k. :laughing

Maybe he did it to try and get Ann a £12k offer in live play (probably not)
