With just one blue there, worth going on. Just have to be really brave. A lot to turn down however.

Noel says this is extraordinary, as the banker would normally halve the offer in this position. Marcel asks for a sweep, and almost everyone says DEAL. Ann says she's not seen anyone get an offer like that, and Glenn says the offer is 25 lots of £1,000. Marcel says he has a stupid desire to go on.

Marcel says

DEAL

The previous offer was so bad, Noel, he could afford to go up!

Endlessly fascinating Dond!

14 - Karen - £10

Banker time with £3,000 and £100,000 remaining

The banker says this is a funny old game.

Banker's offer would've been:

£39,000

Box 22 with Mary contains the £100,000

Noel says the Death Box really does have big values at the moment.

Well, I suppose making a joke about someone's weight makes a change from Noel's usual line in insults.

Marcel had a box yesterday. Hopefully a much better game than yesterday. The host goes into Noel's HQ mode with an anti-bureaucracy jab, we see a few photos, blah blah blah. Let's keep this snappy and fast-forward to the ADP.

First round: good. Three tiny blues is a psychological boost. Offer reflects that.
Second round: followed the script, with one big hit. Board's still good; Banker joke's good; offer, not so much. What's the probability of going through the game without a run of four boxes of the same colour?
Third round: good. Didn't Marcel play a day too soon, given his daughter's birthday? Not like this show to miss something like that. Offer shouldn't take him out, and doesn't.
Fourth round: brilliant, and that's just the comedy.

Right, this is serious. £50k, £100k, and £250k at eight-box, and only two blues. The £3k/£5k/£15k trio can hardly be described as unimportant now. Crikey, no discussion at eight-box stays in the edit? This could be huge! Comparable board to what Jess had, and the right decision on a similar offer.

Oh. Still, blue and orange after that; the round followed the script in terms of taking out one of each red trio with a blue, but it was the wrong big red. Nice and stable board on which one can try and recoup what will be relatively modest losses anyway... or, apparently, not. The offer actually goes up. That's your incentive to make decisive No Deals on a strong board; you can do damage, even hitting £250k in this case, and still get a better offer. Now, though, it's time to go. Would the Banker really halve the offer here? £11,875 would be a weird offer, and a rubbish one; £20,000 would be what I'd expect in this spot. "Marcel says he has a stupid desire to go on", but fortunately Noel doesn't talk him into following it. Thank goodness.

£15,000 goes, and Noel is already talking up the chance of a third £50k/£100k finish in barely a week, preparing for the guilt trip. That'll show you - ah, now I see why we were running fast. This is a brilliant Banker's Gamble scenario. I'd go for this, I think. Oh, fine, the Banker spoils it with a hypothetical joke, albeit one that is scarcely out of character with the last offer. £3,000 in the box, and that's not a result Marcel can realistically complain about one little bit, a TPW, and a cash prize comfortably in the top 20% of all wins in DoND history.

All I can say in this game is that he should've stopped at 2-box

For someone who has never had more than £1,000 in their bank account, the deal at £25k was sensible (heck - I'd have taken it and I'm a lot more financially secure).

I'd have expected close to £35k maximum at 2-box (the BG was a possiblity but strangely not chosen)

First player win of the week at last.

Does anybody know the exact number of times, as regards live play, that the Banker has upped the offer after a round featuring the £250k?

It's definitely a rarer event than Chelsea losing at home...

Who was that random heckler in the audience today and what was his first comment and was that Mr Al sitting right next to him looking a little uncomfortable?

Right, would probably help if I read the previous comments before posting. Just read what he said and who he was next to.

Good game. While there was plenty of incentive to go on at 5 box the offer seemed perfectly dealable too. In the end Marcel was just unlucky not to hit the £100k in proveout.

Oh and :smt046 at Mister Al's new friend in the audience. Did he just have an incredibly loud mouth or was a microphone accidently pointed in his direction?

If my actual brother gets to read that, I'm not altogether sure he'd be too thrilled...

I'm pleased that people spotted that I looked uncomfortable next to that guy because that's exactly how I felt. I don't want to be too rude about him, but for whatever reason he just didn't seem to have any idea about how inappropriate it was to shout out every thought that went through his head while sat in the audience of a TV recording. I'm actually quite surprised and impressed that they managed to cut his contributions down as much as they did; there were many many more things he called out that didn't make the final programme. At one point Noel even brought a shovel onto the set and (jokily) threatened to whack him round the head with it to shut him up! Thankfully Marcel was so laid back that he was able to laugh the whole thing off, but if I were the player I know I'd have got very irritated by the constant interruptions.

Love it, Mr Al. I suppose the bits they kept in were relatively funny but you could tell in the way Noel was looking at him he werent that impressed. He doesnt suffers fools gladly. he just looked like the sort of bloke who wanders in somewhere out of the cold if thats not too unkind.

I remember a similiar thing happening at a memorial service for one of my uni lecturers. This bloke with a plastic bag started clapping and shouting out rather inappropriately and eventually got turfed out on his backside.
