Noel says we've not had one like this for quite a while.

Oh dear... with four of the power five still in play and two blues... was worth another round.

I feel a big mistake coming on.

That's either the Banker utterly convinced Jess is a naive targetist, or the producers really wanting a Wakeyist game. After yesterday, I'm thinking the latter.

The worst decision I've ever seen from a mathematician.

Banker's offer would've been:

£73,000

Even considering that, though, that proveout offer is disgraceful. To triple the offer after an imperfect fifth round is laughable.

Round 6 (proveout)

Noel says that's the harsh reality of how powerful Jess's game is, and she says she feels ill now!

2 - Ann - £250,000

9 - Faye - 50p

"Ooh no no" says Noel.

22 - Jonathan - £100,000

Banker time with £15,000 and £35,000 remaining

John asks says it depends on whether the £15,000 would cater for her needs if she gambled and lost.

Jess says

NO DEAL

She keeps the £23,000

I'd turn down £23k on this finish so I'd take this gamble on.

However, at this point I would be celebrating an OPW, though probably for nearer £53k than £73k!!

And Jess really is a targetist. I can't quite believe it. If they wanted entertaining young trainee accountants, why did they reject my application?

Jess has £15,000 in her box 19

Box 14 with Wayne contains the £35,000

Noel says Jess walked one round too soon, and Jess says she's a bit gutted but £23,000 is an enormous sum for her.

A thoroughly deserved OBW.

I just don't understand how she was so naively set on £20,000 as a tipping point that she didn't play a sound mathematical game. (Ironically that might have meant taking reckless gambles on a weaker board!!)

Exactly. That has to be one of the most outrageously high proveout offers ever. I can't think of one less plausible.
I thought the banker would double it to £46,000 which is probably what he'd have done in live play.

she was really timid wasn't she? Mind you that offer of £73k was taking the piss as well as he would never have offered anywhere near that in live play.

Today's deal was very poor in other words

Well done Endemol for picking another easily frightened player!
