Noel now asks Jaron

SWAP or NO SWAP

But the Banker calls and says that before Jaron answers he will tell Jaron that he has to SWAP to win the £15,000.

Jaron says

NO SWAP

I think there's a reason I normally ignore the banker's mind games.

And that confirms it would have been a historic second-offer OPW. Remember Dot?

The weird thing is he even went all the way turning down an offer I'd take, so either he was never really going to take the £10k, or he really got talked into taking risks (or was chasing the £10k he regretted rejecting?!?). Any thoughts from audience members?

He told the truth says Noel.

Box 21 with Bonita contains the £15,000
Jaron says he is absolutely gutted.

Ok, this is going to seem like being wise after the event, but it was at about 4-box that I had an instinct that the banker was trying to tell Jaron that he had £250 through the previous offer ending in that (and the changes in offer got me thinking).

I'd say I was about 80% certain, but as I thought I could be wrong, I didn't say anything to his relatives sitting feet from me. I kinda knew he would win the £250 at 2-box, the banker giving him a final chance to swap when he knew Jaron wouldn't. It was a painful ending, and I felt a tad guilty for not exposing the banker's cruel mind game - then again, my instincts might have been wrong, but sadly not...

I'd say personally he regretted not taking the 10k - the persuasion by Noel at that point was a bit uncomfortable to watch for me, and he did mention the offer later in the game as the board collapse.

The ultimate irony was that they had to re-shoot him saying no deal to the 10k offer afterwards, pity he couldn't say deal! I'd say it was as close as Dot to a 2nd offer deal though...

Anyway, just about to watch the recording now!

Noel mentioned it in his post-game spiel - he said the same as you, he was trying to tell Jaron that he had £250 with the offers, but no one spotted it.

Yes, but he would as I didn't say anything, and given the atmosphere it didn't seem the right time to say, 'I knew it!'...

Oh wow, fantastically unlucky really. The offers were respectable enough but it wasn't a game where i would have said take them unreservedly. The Bankers not-so -subtle message about the £250 seems obvious in hindsight but i don't think i would have twigged.
