An interesting run of games. That's the 8th red win in a row but all between £12k-£26k but only Bharti brought a blue to the table during that time (and Noel decided to swap that for no reason).

Paul was a very likeable player - I could even forgive the mid-game tears given his background. At least for once, the banker didn't punish him for his obvious financial instability - £26k was the right decision for him to take.

Two comments from Noel today to applaud - the one at the end about DOND being open to all walks of like and the fact that his "3rd offer bad" spiel was replaced by " people who deal on the 3rd offer on boards like this with low offers normally fail to make it work" which at least has truth in it.

Yes, I liked that sentiment from Noel at the end, DOND is a rather unique show in that anyone can play it regardless of age, class, disability, background etc., and that was one time today that I was glad that Paul felt he could share his rather turbulent childhood with us, I can't think of any other game show where the player would be given a platform to do that (save Big Brother, but that was rather contrived for emotions to be poured out).

Anyway, there was light with the shade today and it was a really entertaining game with a great result. Personally, I'd have felt £15k/ £35k would've given me nearly as much, and given taking out £500 was 60%, I'd have carried on. EV estimate was £32k, virtually the average of the final 2 he left. Not that the proveout seemed to matter much today.

Oh, and it's quite fun for me at the moment trying to spot contestants I saw during Halloween shows, as most of them were barely recognisable in their elaborate costumes, and I'm also speculating a bit about how they might have dressed the contestants who played just before the games I saw!

No such place as Middlesex!

Middlesex is a county. But I thought Enfield was in London.

Middlesex ceased to be an official county in 1965.

Paul was a very likeable contestant and £26k was absolutely the right deal for him, though with that board there would have been absolutely no recklessness in going on, an entertaining game with a very pleasant outcome
