Round 6 (proveout)

10 - Ammarah - £1,000

"Oh no no no" says Noel.

21 - Therese - £5

Noel says Jeff has blown one of the biggest opportunities if this is the 1p. The banker phones and says this could be one of his best victories ever, and if this is the 1p, he'll give Howie £200!

9 - Ian - £75,000

Banker time with 1p and £50,000 remaining

Noel talks about his £50,000 prediction at the start of the game! The banker says tough luck, Howie gets nothing. :P

Banker's offer would've been:

£14,000

Box 7 with Denise contains the £50,000

Noel says Jeff probably has a bit of regret and Jeff says the banker can read people's minds better than he can! Jeff talks about how he'll give some money to charity and Noel says the banker hates that and he's worried about getting fired. :P

Sounds like another player being a bit too easily influenced by family and previous games, although trying not to is probably easier said than done, particularly when the banker is being just plain hateful like he has been for the last few weeks. As if being in the chair wasn't intimidating enough!

Still, Jeff didn't miss out on nearly as much as some other players have recently, so a small mercy there - the 5-box offer sounded fair and 2-box may have only been a couple of grand less in live play.

To be honest, I didn't blame him at all for that deal - he only had two influential boxes left after all, two consolation oranges and 4 blues all worth pocket change, so he had very little to fall back on, and even average luck would have left all-or-peanuts at 5-box and the banker has been really stingy on boards like that recently.

Interesting to hear Noel talking about how the show could be seen as "planned" - I think he really meant "fixed" (the banker seems able to make people go the end when they have low money in the box, or deal too early even when it isn't, like today). The cynic in me is starting to believe it's not a coincidence. :)

I was also slightly surprised there was no banker's gamble despite it being less generous than for Cheryl and Bel!

Not a bad deal, but one that backfired in proveout.

To be honest contestants who keep forgetting the rules of the game - especially the most important one - tend to irritate me and i would have appreciated it if Jeff had concentrated a bit harder. I mean how hard is it to remember - 3 boxes than a question.

Can't help suspecting that when it comes to Howie's game every offer is going to end in £200.

And what is going on between Noel & Angela?????? :-D

Forget about the 2 wins last week, that was a sensible 8-box deal followed by an inflated 5-box offer (I could have accepted £14k at 5-box but not £17.5k).

And Noel got so flummoxed by his £50k prediction that he said Jeff might be the 32nd member of the 1p club when in fact he would have been the 33rd.

I am finding both the Howie and Angela things REALLY funny. (Plus I think Angela is SO gorgeous too) - at least that'll stop me wanting to switch off with all the bad games recently! :)
