Round 5 - Proveout round

Noel says he will be so angry with Stephen if he has turned down the chance to win £250,000. The Banker calls back as promised and speaks to Stephen. He says he knew Stephen was going to deal after Stephen's wife said there was more chance of him going home with a red than a blue, and he saw something in Stephen's eye.

4 - £100,000 James

That's taken some pressure off says Noel

10 - 50p Allan

9 - £15,000 Sue

Banker time

Should have been very very more brave. Should have not dealt at 8 box.

You came along with so much positivity says Noel, and Stephen will have to brace himself for this offer.

Banker's offer would've been:

£150,000

Noel says Stephen would have been offered the SWAP

Stephen says he would have kept his box.

Noel opens box 17 and reveals £250,000

Should have gone with what he said and Noel said about being the first £250k winner. He had his chance but he blew it big big time.

You let me down says Noel, as the whole studio goes into a deathly silence.

Box 13 with Rachel contains the £75,000

Noel just said exactly what I thought!

What a complete waste...worst game of the Season

That was definitely a very shocking deal, and a small part of me thought it was a big mistake from the start, but when all is said and done, 25k is a hell of a lot of money, and clearly Stephen couldn't afford to risk it. Not so long ago Neil made a similar deal on a similarly strong board as well, only in this case it turns out that he could've won a lot more, whereas in Neil's game the proveout saw the game crash spectacularly.

So ultimately, it could have gone badly wrong, and for some people, ANY risk of losing that sort of money is too much to deal with. Noel shouldn't have been rubbing it in as much as he was. And don't forget, it's the biggest win of the season so far!

Just a shame he couldn't have found the £75k before two box, then it most probably would have been the first Banker's Gamble of the season.

Good board at 8 box but with the wrong player. Any other one of the 21 would have probably gone on.

Noel had no right to be as openly involved as to say "you let me down". Bad tactical decision? Undoubtedly, and possibly in the Richard class to boot; I'd value that board in the high thirties, I think. But give me games like this over a blue win. He got what he wanted, with a fine reason for doing so, but this was a game where greed would've been good, and we didn't get a greedy player at all.
Worried about how Sunday's player might make decisions from without rather than from within...

I don't entirely blame him for dealing the offer. His decision, he's a family man and the money clearly meant a lot to him. Maybe statistically a lot of us would have gone on, but if you value money like Stephen then it's a good deal from Stephen's perspective (albeit it would have stung when he saw the board go like that in front of him).

Besides that, I could imagine most of the wings (and definitely Stephen) dealing £42,500 at 5-box anyway. One of the best games of Season 6 so far anyway. It kept me interested.

I'm guessing that you're going by the commentary alone here, yes? Because it was clear that Noel was being quite tongue-in-cheek there, and immediately made the point that £25k was a very nice amount of money to be taking home nonetheless. There was certainly no Kelsie-like player-bashing today, despite the similarities of the two games.

This was a bit like Richard's game with Kelsie's ending...I bet tomorrows player will have more courage only to then win a blue, it's so predictable
