Ramesh with a chance of being Season 5's highest winner by £2,000

Not much of a difference, but I wouldn't blame him if he took that offer

You couldn't have scripted that round better in terms of the order in which he opened the boxes.

With the recent precedent from Caine's game, and the magnitude of the offers he has declined, this could almost be into Corinne territory. Either way, with this being such a stark 50-50 gamble, surely it's time for the head to overrule the heart.

£77,000. It is indeed almost in Corinne territory. It has to be a Deal. Can £250,000 possibly be twice as useful as £77,000, unless you're playing the property market?

Ramesh asks Tom who says he'd be gutted for him if he went home with £5 BUT the £250k is still there. :P Spiro says that's a hell of a lot of money but he's also a firm believer of the OHO club but he also says a good gambler knows when to quit.

Ramesh says DEAL

The reality check has arrived.

What an extraordinary game. I still can't believe such a smart guy can make those decisions on blind faith.

Ramesh says both him and his wife had a dream that box 4 would have big money. She says she's surprised he dealt!

Noel says the swap would be guaranteed here as the £250k is in play. Ramesh says he'd have said SWAP

Noel swaps Ramesh's box 13 for box 4...

Box 4 contains £5

Oh god, the swap. Guilt trip either way.

For Box 4? So he was actually attending the Church of Wakey? That would explain the five-box decision!!

And that's the first £250k appearance on the table this decade, but it's spun as an OPW! Let's face it, there are many ways you can spin this game, but it would have looked utterly wrong to berate Ramesh for a "lack of courage", as if anything he had too much.

And what a swap that would've been if he had done that in live play!

Perfectly played by Ramesh, I tip my hat off to him! :D

The other contestants rush out to congratulate Ramesh.

Box 13 (now with Ciara) contains the £250,000

Noel says that's the 1st time the £250k has come to the table since 09/12/09!

Only came to the table by a hypo-swap, Noel

It has to come to the table before the start of the game...

Other way round, KB! It came to the table but would have been swapped away :)

What an extraordinary game. Whatever you think of play like that, you can't exactly not remember it. I'm sure that will be the game of the month even though my vote's for Monique.

Is there any possibility that wakey was a retired pharmacist?

Edit - Sorry KP - see you've beaten me to that joke!

Whoops, my bad

Anyways, Ramesh is now Season 5's biggest winner, how long will it be before another contestant wins more than him? ;)

How? Noel bases whether or not it's a victory for the box that the contestant swapped for, not the box they originally had...

Anyway, that was an absolutely amazing game. I was very, very relieved that he dealt, and ultimately it was just as well because he would have made the most disastrously painful swap of all time! With 77k, Ramesh is now the biggest winner since 250k Alice's game.

It's always the contestants who seem down to earth and sensible on the wings that seem to produce the most exciting games, isn't it?
