And wasn't his granddaughter, Sarah, a gorgeous young lady? I do love to see a happy family who are so obviously refined and well brought up. Freddie is a true gentleman and he has a delightful granddaughter and his whole family are a credit to him. A good win and a great prize in the Ascot gift. Enjoy Freddie!

I've seen production staff wearing dafter costumes than that snowman costume before.

One-post summary of the game who shares a colloquial name with a cricketer well-known and much-loved for his aggressive, sometimes risk-taking tendencies. 96? Lower! Still old enough to be a potential don't-care-gambler, two years older than Corinne.

Not only one of the bottom five, but the bottom two! Second time in a row the real Power 5 has remained untouched this week, too. Comedy offer just shy of ten grand, fair enough, nothing much unusual. Ferrari experience? Second plug of the month for a luxury car manufacturer, that! Personally, I'd much rather this.

Brilliant board, allied to a player who has a better view than most on gambling, given his father's line of work. Interesting. The offer is naff considering, although twelve grand and a chunk of change is significant. By saying so, though, he's proving he's not a don't-care-gambler, and other old players tend to be very risk-averse.

And the board gets better! Simon thinks we have a glory-hunter in the chair, my reading of the recap is different but he's got a better view than me. Anyway, £NO_DEAL at 11-box, obviously enough. Bloomin' nora, a blue and an orange! Top five and £15k at nine-box! Oh. Still, that'll push him onto what would be an almost impregnable position with Santa... well, it would be, but for the small matter of two games collapsing from such positions with one-to-open twists (Orry and Tony). Anyone got the probability of having the jackpot twice in five wing appearances to hand?

Instant rejection of the laughable eight-box offer follows the script, we're going to the Adjusted ADP with a heck of a lot of time intact on the edit. And a seriously damaging end to the 17-box opening round, and there'll only be two offers today. Top stage outfits again, sometimes I wonder if DoND's producers would be better off in theatre. Psychological warfare... gamble! Using the young female family member to induce it! This is irony on too many levels. I'd probably - though not definitely - Deal here on the grounds that although I'd quite likely go on here in a normal game with the relative stability, I'd rather have regrets and £15,000 than regrets and a blue... and Freddie's going to have regrets here alright. But not if he takes advantage of the guaranteed swap!

And a special gift themed around greed and gambling. Dear Endemol. I can spot your hidden messages from a mile away (well, about 150 miles away from the Dream Factory, as it turns out).

It wasn't mentioned in the commentary but Freddie said at 14 box and repeated at 11 box that he wasn't dealing with the £250k still on the board.

Probability of having a specific amount x number of times in 5 shows (to 4 decimal places)
(it's a simple binomial distribution so easy for Excel to work out)
0 = 0.7925
1 = 0.1887
2 = 0.0180
3 = 0.0009
4 and 5 = negligible.

Another cracking special, Freddie was a real charecter and played the game his way (love the fact his Granddaughter was more excited than he was when he won £15k :lol: )

Also for the second day running a pensioner won an inappropriate prize, that could almost be a game show in itself.

Was it kind of logical to assume that when the banker offered £15,000, yet said he didn't want him to win what was in the box, that £15,000 wasn't in the box? Of course he lies, but it seems a convoluted lie. Doesn't the lie usually revolve around whether he has seen a very low or very high number? OK, but of course he could have seen the £15,000 and then offered it. Still I think it was somehow wise to swap at the end thus bringing the £15,000 to the table.

I do agree that his granddaughter was a very attractive young lady, who has obviously been very well brought up.

Loved that show. Freddie was a legend, and he read the banker very well by swapping. I was convinced he'd seen a small amount.

Great comedy game with a great outcome. Even though I only saw it from the 2nd break, I saw all the relevant bits, then caught the rest on 4OD. :)

I agree the "pitch invasions" for a middling win like £10k and £15k are a bit OTT though!
