One-post recap right on full-time today thanks to leaving work early.

Dan would have been immune from a trainwreck the last few games, at worst he'd have had a game like Flo's. The boxes have no memories. Unfortunately Dan misheard that as 'boxers'.

Franny is entitled to lift the box like it's a trophy after that round. OK, he's not, but it was a very good start. Premier show on British television? I think X-Factor might have words, it gets about five times as many viewers as this. Not quite ten grand, not quite a good offer for the board, but not half bad.

Comedy buildup from Noel, which is distracting us from just how good this board is. Watch for him to turn on the talking-up switch right before the offers get dealable.

Oh, £100k goes before that. Never mind, still a good board... there we go, Noel speaks on Dan's behalf and pretends he's Corinne. I know I'm reading an edit of an edit, but I didn't see anything in the recap to suggest he was a single-minded Wakeyist. The £250k is not a sufficient reason to turn that down, that it is not as 'amazing' as Dan first said is.

Third round pretty much goes according to plan, and Dan now expresses anxiety about the other extreme, perhaps to keep his feet on the ground. That was a quick No Deal in the edit, and it wasn't that bad an offer, and the same as the 11-box one that really should have been taken yesterday...

Looking very good at the second adbreak... oh. But, you see, this is where the top right comes in handy! Instead of £GO_TO_FIVE_BOX yesterday, we get something genuinely reasonable today. Though he's not interested.

And now he's destroying the board. When was the last time two consecutive games peaked at 11-box, anyone? Nine grand is seriously generous for this configuration, and I'd be gone for sure. He's come here to play the game, but he's forgotten half the title. That's never good, although he did ask for advice and recognised some sort of danger in fairness.

And that's two consecutive games peaking at 11-box. Is it just me who finds that hilarious? And at least he could do some simple maths, work out that £5,000 / 2 = £2,500, and Deal at the end.

Yes, a similar game to yesterday's with a strongish start and a late board collapse in the 3rd part - frustrating! I'd have taken the 9k for sure at the time on that configuration, but I had no feelings that he would (in fact, I worried a bit about him turning down the mean £2,500, but thankfully common sense prevailed!).

The banker was very critical about his appearance, even more so than the edit, and when Noel was speaking about his condition, the banker's 'sincere response' was actually, pardon my French, that 'he didn't give a s**t about it!' and the 'wasn't very moved' was added after, hence the exaggerated laugh there.

But perhaps the most infamous moment of that edition was the 1p kiss with Gaz, which was basically a full-on snog; you may have noticed that they did two cutaways to the wings to conceal this! :P I can't say I'm surprised, as I thought at the time it was very risque for a daytime audience!

Anyway, another player prepared to go for it, at least he got more of a consolation than Gillian, although I wouldn't have gone for either 5-box gambles. I wish Dan all the best, though, it was quite harrowing hearing what he had been through and he was still so positive about life.

Glad Dan saw sense and took the mean offer at 2 box. Perhaps the 1p win yesterday helped his decision as a 2 day total of £1.01 would be horrible.

Bit unforunate again, it was looking so promising at the 2nd break with only 3 blues there and good fallback to the 3 power 5s, the game took a vicious turn for the worse, and it was a determined player in the chair too who I knew wouldn't go cheaply.

Still, £2,500 is much better than £1, and he still seemed very happy with it.

Bit disappointed a bit more wasn't made of the double-act with Harry!

Yes, another unlucky player. Can't blame him for taking the final offer as the mean is unusually generous.

Interesting that that makes 3 consecutive games where a third offer deal would have resulted in an OPW, given Noel's repeated scepticism as to the success factor ofsuch deals i did find that quite noticeable

Was anyone else slightly surprised that Dan played before Hull's other famous son who has been on the wings at least a week longer by my reckoning? I know the selcection process is random but that did seem quite noticable to me

(and Why am i using the word noticable in every sentance? Maybe Santa will bring me a thesaurus for Christmas)

Moral of the story: it's perfectly all right to be a confetti hound, just as long as you follow the second half of that approach and get out once the QM is out of the game. Dan didn't do that, and it cost him £7500.

And I have to take issue with killersbee pooh-poohing that £9K offer at 5-box because it was "the lowest offer in the game". Yes, at the time it was, but only by £900, it was only £1000 less than the last offer despite the top of the game going out, it was nearly 20% the top number on a board that would collapse entirely if £50K went out (which it did), and more than three times what he ended up salvaging. Refusing an offer just because it's the lowest of the game when there's a significant chance of it going much lower is putting more emphasis on the metagame than you should.

THe selection process isn't random. The production team pick who's going to play each day, but the players themselves don't know.

Okay, so it became the second lowest offer in his game when it all crumbled at the end and took the lowest offer at 2-Box

I'm just saying that next week, the players might as well just let The Banker walk all over them at this rate :(

Yeah. I know, I meant random as in not in strict rotation. (Wouldn't it be boring if everyone did exactly 22 shows then out)
