Quite - the banker can't resist these comedy offers to rub a players nose in it. Even the last offer of £750 was an instant no deal except to someone absolutely determined to avoid 1p. Nothing really worth considering at any stage.

I think it is relevant sometimes though.

If you have an 8-box of 3 blues/£15k/£20k/£35k/£50k/£75k and take out the 3 highest reds, then the 5-box offer will be an insult. However, if you have an 8-box of 6 blues/£15k/£20k/£35k and take out the 3 lowest blues, then the 5-box offer will likely be half-decent. Despite the fact both 5-box boards are the same in these fictitious scenarios.

The momentum of the previous round does often have an affect on the banker's offers.

I'm sick of these stupid offers as well. I'd rather see a crash from a position of strength. Although this game wasn't as bad as Stephen or Martin's games.

This is true, and is an instance of the Banker playing the psychological game rather than focusing purely on the maths. I can't say I'm a fan of it myself -- I'd much rather see an offer that provides a real decision to be made, even after a horrible round -- but it's not unreasonable for the Banker to use psychological tactics.

Anyway, I was in the audience for this game. It was my third live 1p win, coming very shortly after Rod's game which happened during my previous visit to the studios...

I don't think I've seen anything other than blue wins this series, apart from ones I just switched on to see the end of!

If we count the first two offers as just for show then it was a £1,000 peak game, and no decision to make other than the swap. Would have been a good turnaround to get £5k out of that, had she just stuck with her original box...

Must be about time they invited some of the 1p players back, there's more than enough of them now!

Well, nothing to go at at all there - just a horrible crash compounded by the swap going wrong at the end. There was not a single dealable offer today, although most people probably would've won £5k by not swapping (curiously, 1 is also my birthday and I'd keep it for that reason!).

One slight point of mild interest was when her husband got up at the end, I'm sure I saw Mister Al in the audience, although I might be mistaken. Then again, that would hardly be a rarity, given he's seen a fair amount of shows there now - although not as many as Lynn (sp), who's seen 'about 1000' - nearly as many as Noel!

So, since Calum's excellent game at the end of last season, you've seen 3 blue wins on the trot. If you'd have stayed for the 3rd show last time (Aaron's), that would've been 4! There's also another blue amount you've 'triplicated' on your visits...

If 100K hadn't been taken out then 8 box would have provided a very dealable offer. So much for the theory of courage being rewarded in reaching the last two in live play. Then again maybe the thinking was that with only 22 1p winners(!) they needed a stingy 2 box offer to get No. 23!

Er, no. Because I forgot that I was also there for Terry's and Diane's games, which happened between Rod's and Michelle's. I am a forgetful buffoon.

(By the way, I'm being careful to only refer to games I've seen that since have been broadcast, so don't go making any inferences about future games from that!)

What another joke of a game. I was convinced she was doing the right thing swapping too! At least this blows any conspiracy theories out of the window. (I think a lot of this forum would have swapped, and I'd even have considered it even though I like Box 1).

I'd absolutely certain now that after the disastrous third round, the last thing they wanted was a deal for a something in the low-mid 4 figures. For entertainment's worth they had to make sure she played on for the big box opening, whether it be good or bad. I'm sure if she hadn't swapped, £5k would have felt like £50k given how she would have got there!

I think once be get a decent box win I think the offers will become sensible again. The beginning of season 4 was like now then we suddenly got sensible offers again after Julie's forced £75k win, and then the same after Keran's which was far better earned. We just have to stick with it I guess becuase it'll happen sooner or later with this stingyness!

Typical becuase I really liked both Michelle and her husband. They both managed to have a good laugh about it despite the relenting misfortune. Everyone I liked in the last few games has won a blue, whereas I wasn't so keen on Ginette or Sharna and they both won a decent amount!

Has anyone ever had a wing run without seeing a £20k win? Well apart from the first three contestants!

I know there was the post-Richard run but that's the only time we've been close, and even that had Harvey!! We might be on for one at this rate, especially if we get an early player!!
