I love how KB's tone completely changed once the OPW was confirmed! :P

Good game, nothing special as the big money was mostly gone from a fair early stage...but the £75,000 stayed long enough to get a decent amount from the game! :)

I can't recall a player in a wheelchair moving around during the game rather than staying by the pound table before.

Nice game, really thought it was headed towards a train wreck at one point but Rob managed to hold onto the £75k just long enough to get an OPW. It really was dream timing there but as i've said before if you can get an offer at 5 box that's higher than 80% of the board it has to be worth serious consideration

Not a big money game by any stretch of the imagination but a very satisfying result none the less. And the game of musical hats was a nice pay off for the running hat gag over the past few shows

One thing i didn't get, when the Banker started talking about Rob's accident and how he was wearing the same jacket, did that actually lead anywhere? Because i didn't see how it tied into the offer at all :ponder:

Well, that was a good recovery to get £7,500 out of that game, a sensible deal for 10% of the top amount with minimal back-ups at 5-box, so good play and a deserved OPW. Rob was a great contestant who's triumphed through adversity, and I wish him all the best for the future - his marathon achievements are outstanding, but thankfully he didn't go the distance with the banker today!

Thanks for the running commentaries in the last few games here folks, much appreciated! Not caught DOND for a bit so was nice to see what I've been missing.

Nothing spectacular today but a game with hat-related humour and an OPW to boot.

October is looking better already.

After the first two rounds, I began to think "Here we go again" with the bad luck. But thanks to the Banker more than doubling his offer even after he took out both of his backups (I was expecting him to make a really hardball offer like £3100 or such), we got an OPW out of it. And I think the bit with the hats helped keep the game light, especially at the start when it really did look like another trainwreck was in the cards.

Not a particualrly memorable game like Tracey's was, but I'm really pleased Rob didn't win the blue in his box and extracted the best of a bad job. I'd become a big fan of his from the wings, the hat stuff with Noel was genuinely amusing and it carried over into the game (unlike Russ with his impressions!), and what he's achieved with his condition is admirable. Nice for a good positive story to come out of it and not a depressing start to the show.

Good play too, I don't know what he did to get the banker's respect, but I was expecting a return to £3k at 5-box and being forced on the win the blue in his box. I knew there wasn't time for a big finnish again! Incidentally his last 5 was the same as Emma the last contestant in a wheelchair - £75k/£3k/3 blues, and the offer was the same too - only luckily Rob dealt! :)
