Not a bad offer, but it's a strong board.

I'd continue here.

My strategy here would be to completely ignore whatever the banker says. I'd go one further and even tell Noel not to tell me what he says in the first place.

Nice in theory, but you realise Noel is contractually obliged to repeat everything the Banker says no matter what.

A desperately unlucky finish for the lovely Dot, but i must admit i do enjoy seeing the Banker play his mind games, always fascinating to watch.

Personally i probably would have dealt at 5 box just because of the Banker's psychological advantage. I know people say to ignore everything he says but it's a bit like not thinking of a white elephant, once it's out there it's very hard not to think about it.

Oh crap:( my 4od failed again so I've just caught up on here. 50, 75 and 35 in the one round at the 'right' time...if ever there was a 'never meant to be' game, this was it. I'd been looking forward to dot's game. I guess i'm glad i didn't have the patience to wait on my crap pc to load the flaming show properly. Only to be bitterly disappointed. Ho hum. Can only get better...can't it?!

What a lovely lady Dot was. She took the poor result with dignity and no snivelling like many of the contestants do. I wish her well in the future. :smt057

I very much agree with Anne, all this blubbering really gets me down.
I've noticed that in every situation we have had like todays the banker has lied through his teeth. Dot took it much better than I'm afaid I would.
If I were on the show and he treated me in this way i would somehow find out who he was and give him a good slap.
When it comes to men sometimes physical violence is the only answer and i'm not afraid to give a slap round the chops to or use some good old fashioned fisticuffs on any man who gets on the wrong side of me

Oh, this game can be so cruel sometimes. Dot was also one of my favourites from the wings and I had been looking forward to her game for months. It looked like a really strong 5-box as well , and the £15k was low enough for me to have suspicions she had the £1 (although she had the £1k), but I'd have still carried on.

The nightmare round was awful to watch, and it just seemed inevitable she would end up with the pound. At least not as bad a swap as Orry to get there, not that that's any consolation. Not a great start to the special shows, although given the nature of these weeks, unfortunately there's usually at least one trainwreck; think of Tony, Matty, Pammy, Sam (and Linz, Chris and Dirk in the run-up to the 1000th show!). On a more positive note, there have also been some mega wins during these weeks, so let's hope the trend continues more towards that!

I thought that was a joke company at first!

Notice King.com is sponsoring the show in general now, suppose it keeps it on the air!! Does Countdown still have a sponsor? I think the last time I watched that it was sponsored by Specsavers :laughing

And when it is, it makes uncomfortable viewing, I hope today's game doesn't go the same way :smt009
