Noel swaps Dot's box 6 for Georgina's box 12.

Noel opens Dot's new box and reveals £1 :(

That gets a lot of BOOs from the audience as the banker cheated her out of £1,000 by lying :(

6 - Georgina - £1,000

And what a terrible ending to what looked like it was a strong game! :(

This was not the start we were looking for...

Yup, I'd swap regardless. Although I'd expect this to go wrong, by now I wouldn't care.

Sure enough.

Actually to be honest I probably wouldn't give him the final satisfaction, and would take the £180 OPL :)

I really wanted Dot to do well, such a lovely lady :( It's a shame to think that bloke yesterday was banging on about missing his family and stuff (if you can't face being away from your family then don't go on the show) and he got really generous offers and went away with a large sum.

Seems the only way to get the banker to be generous these days is to have a sob story of some sort. I feel so sorry for Dot as she was at the receiving end of the banker messing about during these special shows. :(

What a fantastic lady, I wish her well for the future! :)

She did have generous offers. I would not fault anyone for taking them. However, the board was strong. She was desperately unlucky to have the final round that she did.

That being said. No matter how strong the board, if £15,000 is too much money to gamble for you personally then you should deal. I've not seen the show so I'm not sure how Dot reacted, or what her financial situation is.

A 5 box with 3 of the Power 5 is rare, to go away with £1 at the end of it is very unlucky! :?

In fairness £15,000 was a poor offer for such a good board and Dot's decision to no deal was perfectly justifiable.

Dot was just unlucky. I dont think she was influenced by the banker's mindgames. She swaped for box 12 because of the association with her husband.
She kept saying she was a gambler and didn't look upset about how the game turned out.

Like Hardev last week, she made a justifiable decision and then got hugely unlucky. Unfortunately, it resulted in her winning £1. With hindsight, having seen the £1k in the box, the £15k offer was a clever one given the 75% chance of an all red finish and gave banker's gamble opportunities had Dot dealt it.

I thought Dot was fantastic - one of my favourites from this season. She was a real breath of fresh air as she was very amusing, very likeable, didn't cry at any point, and wanted the money for modest things such as a car and being able to treat her family. It's a great shame that her game went so wrong towards the end because it looked so strong at one point. I suppose the phrase "It's not how you start, it's how you finish" works both ways.

Her board reminded me of 1p Colin's part the way through, as he also had a block of reds - the largest of which was £100k - with only a couple of blues. Dot seemed to be a gambler so probably would've played to the end regardless, but after Mark's unexplainable generous offers at 8-box and 5-box yesterday, it's a shame to see Dot getting rather poor 8-box and 5-box offers.

The set and "costumes" for these specials seem pretty good and I much prefer it all to the banker's birthday week - at least we can still see what the contestants look like for these specials. I quite like the blue boxes and the random crabs and seagulls lurking around too!

By the way, not only has Gail had £250k 3 times in a row, but Milly has had the 1p 3 times in a row (and on Friday and Sunday, she had it in box 12 both times)!

Due to the fact that I was in the audience for Thursday and Friday's games this week, I already knew the result of Dot's game. So I was quite surprised to see such a strong board throughout most of her game.

I wonder what she would have done if she'd have uncovered the SUN instead of the RAIN -- would she have taken one of the additional offers before everything crashed, or would she have still gone to the end regardless?

What a lovely lady Dot was. She took the poor result with dignity and no snivelling like many of the contestants do. I wish her well in the future. :smt057

The professor played a blinder today. I'd have taken that 5-box offer in an instant, thinking it was a double bluff. And rightly so...once that horrible round occured you just knew she was going to win the £1, one way or another.

Never mind! Four more shows still to go!

I absolutely despise this show. That is all. :(

The best people always win something crap!!

And thinking about last year's summer specials where William got given a holiday due to "mind games" even though he won 4 grand (and sold a blue for it!), Dot gets £1 due to similar mind games and gets no holiday, god that annoys me.

Cue "money for Dot" in an offer tomorrow! :(

Which would probably be what The Banker will have in mind for tomorrow's game
