Fantastic way to celebrate 1000% shows. I was trying to remember the last player who could scream as loud as Lisa, there haven't been many

Great game though, some really good luck there and some brave decisions, I actually thought £50k was a very generous last offer considering she had 50% chance of having a blue in her box at that stage but i think it was helped by the fact the board had been strong throughout (and the gold box inflating the early offers possibly had a knock on effect as well).

Much as i love the idea of destiny and second sight and all that on this occassion i was screaming deal at the TV. I think there's a fine line between ambition and recklessness and a no deal at that final offer would have been a step towards the latter.

Am worried for tomorrow's contestant though, this week has gone trainwreck - power 5 win - Trainwreck - Power 5 win (or equivilant) let's hope they can break the cycle

And lovely to see so many old faces in the audience from the two 1/4 millionaires to the founder of the 1p club. :) I know it's only been 31/2 years but most of them haven't changed a bit.

When was the last in-play £250k final pair, other than Banker's Gamble offers?

What, exactly five pounds in box 11?! Not even box 10 or 12, but precisely 11?! But that's only a 1 in 22 chance! That's less than 5%!

When you consider that the fiver is much more likely to not be in box 11, it does make you wonder, doesn't it...

(Here, I am using sarcasm to make a point to anyone out there who doesn't seem to understand the meaning of the word 'coincidence'.)

That would be Andy from the 3rd birthday show.

Including Banker's Gambles, then Christmas Star Ian and Alice of course.

Congratulations to Lisa on the £50k. It was lovely seeing the old contestants in the audience. Noel's conversation with Clive and Orry kept me amused all the way through the break. "Don't knock it til you've tried it!" And Patricia was next to them, they were my three favourites from that time.

I keep overlooking Billy's game - this isn't the first time I've overlooked it! It must be because of how much the game came out of nowhere!!

After an enjoyable week of special shows to the build-up of the 1000th episode this was a great episode to celebrate the milestone 1000th.

The game was tense, had a likeable contestant, and a good result. Ok technically Lisa could have won £250,000, and for a moment I thought she was going to go for it, but Lisa took some risks to get where she did and I found the latter half of the game incredibly tense because of that. Especially when Lisa turned down £25,000, an amount that clearly meant a lot to her. I was a bit disappointed with the final offer, and I was expecting something bigger for the 1000th show, but as soon as the Laura reference was made I knew what was coming. Whilst it would have been nice to see Lisa "go for it" it was totally understandable why she dealt.

It’s a shame that for the 1000th show they didn’t extend the show to an hour though. I was expecting some VT’s at the break points and possibly a montage at the end of the game too with a roll call of all contestants as well (but I guess a 1000 names would take a while to scroll up). The opening chat with Lisa was very brief as well.

However, i’ve enjoyed the past week of shows a lot (though not some of the results). It was nice to see ex-contestants again in the audience, the celebrity VT’s, the little stats Noel gave out, the whole set design and the general celebratory feel to DOND reaching this milestone.

Congratulations to everyone involved with DOND and for making it the success it is. Here’s to the next 1000 episodes and I hope that when we celebrate the 2000th episode, roughly around Aug/Sep 2012 by my calculations, the show is still going just as strong.

There's a special 1000th show section over on the Official DOND site. Which amongst other things has a catch-up with some ex-contestants.

oh shush...50k for heaven's sake, not like she jumped out on 15k! Personally at that amount of money i wouldnt give a fiddler's if the 250k was in the box. which it WASN'T! it was the hypo-swap which i find just stupid. Lisa came to the TABLE with £100, and dealt at 50k. bloody good all round spanking ;) , irregardless of the 'swap'.

as for calling yourself an 'idiot' lisa, dont be daft! 50K!!! You would have every right to do so had you come away with £100. So there ;-)

That's the only part to Deal I still get a little down about - yes there are some deals made on the show that you really question. But when someone deals for all the right reasons (like with Lisa who probably would have had to take any decent offer so as to not risk swapping AWAY the biggie)...although the hypo-swap is now being exercised in the proper way (for closure), it does mean one way or the other, that the player can't claim they "spanked" the Banker as they would have either sold a large value box for a lot less, or they'd have indeed swapped their original box away, brought their favoured box to the table and won the large value!

Rant over!

I notice they've been using some new camera angles - one looking down on the walk of wealth as if from a camera at the top of the board (I think Stephen's game on Monday was the first time we saw this, during the Stephen/Gra 1p kiss/wrestle incident - I thought in that case they were using it as some kind of homage to how boxing or wrestling matches are directed!), and another looking directly down at the pound table (allowing us to see INSIDE their mugs - how exciting!).

What a brilliant game for the 1000th show. I'd been looking forward to this game since the start of the specials despite knowing who the player was beforehand.

I loved Lisa, she was brilliant and great entertainment. Her no deal to £25,000 after hearing it was her target as such showed bravery and so did the £30,000 (although that was a poor offer for the board).

Plus, a £50,000 OPW. What more can we ask for. I don't care that she would have got the £250k had she no dealt, risking it would have been too much.

As Mike said, it would have been good to have it as an hour special just to add a dew more bits in, but all in all it was a brilliant game.

So here's to the next 1000!! After 900-odd episodes (I havent seen all of them, perhaps closer to 950), I still love the show. Long may it continue.

Brilliant game, I was looking forward to this one as I loved Lisa on the wings and thought she'd be a fun contestant. Well done on the 50k!

Good looking audience too - Ty, Joey, Alice and my all time favourite DOND crush, Jade!
