Dermot's game today.

Noel welcomes us to a new week and says that everyone is on a high after Claire's game and hopes for another brave player today.

Dermot has box 16 today. Dermot is a HGV driver, so Noel thinks he should be good at parking his box on the pound table :P Noel asks Dermot how father Ted is  Dermot now lives in Oldham with his girlfriend who is in the audience for support, Dermot tells us how he met his girlfriend and Noel wonders if there are any plans now they have been seeing each other for 5 years, and Dermot replies he will let him know at the end of the show :P

We get to see a family pic of Dermot's, but Noel wants to see a picture of Dermot's truck, but Dermot doesn't have one!

Noel winds up Dermot as his hands have not moved from the pound table since sitting down!!

Here we go...

With Dermot being a truckie, any chance of the banker including ten-four in an offer today?

Dermot says he will be sticking with his system for the time being and see how it goes. Noel asks the Banker if he was able to sit down last night after Claire's game :P

Joannne in May last year got rid of 4, 13 and 22 then went down the rest of the numbers from 21 to 1.

Banker's first offer echoing Dave Show 56's first offer of £4,321 for his 1-22 system (with 2 slight variations)

Round 2

17 - 1p :D Ian

Noel wants the video referee to confirm if Dermot actually gave a 1p kiss then, and he didn't, so Noel gets him to do it again!

Dermot has box 16, so it's straight to 15 now...

15 - £50 Alice

Noel says he is going to do an old link now and asks Dermot what the pedal in the middle of the truck is, and Dermot replies it is the BREAK

He said he doesn't want to wave his hands about, cos he wouldn't want to be slapping Noel about the face, as it wouldn't make very good television.

Hmmmm, I dunno... ;)

If he'd gone from 1 to 22, his final five would have been £5, £500, £3k, £35k and whatever he had in his box.

I've often wondered why the box numbers stay the same with the money amounts changing inside them....why cant the money amounts remain in numberless boxes and then the numbers added at random, then nobody, not even the independent adjudicator would know where the big money was?

Hope Dermot's system works for him.

And how did it work out? cos I can't help feeling it'll end in tears

Like every game show which involves this sort of thing, an independent adjudicator has to know where the money is to ensure fairness.

She dealt £9,000 and had £35,000 in her box, though she was in tears throughout the show.

Perhaps because if the amounts stayed in the same box, over time it may be possible to work out which amount was in each box at they wouldn't be exactly identical.
