Well done hannah. Like Aby, I was the old experienced pro, helping them ease into newbie-ness, as the other guys did for me when I was new. Really lovely girl and a great win. Well done Hannah. You are great.

Haven't seen the game, but it seems like you turned down some nice money and was brave to do so, but then ensured you were going to go home with good money. Can't fault that. there wasn't a massive amount of extra money if she would have no dealt, so whatever people want to call it, I call it a good win for a great person.

WELL DONE HANNAH!

You've probably won the seal that would've gone to me (I won the Sunday one). I decided to give mine up as it wouldn't be of much use to me, I wouldn't be able now to appreciate its significance apart from on eBay. And it seemed a shame to merely sell it on eBay for 1p rather than let it go to a more worthy winner who was actually still a "fan" of DoND.

From what I've heard on here, bloody brilliant game apart from in technical terms. In technical terms, a disaster. Considering £3,176 and £8,000 were both too early anyway, the "wrong deal at the wrong time". However the beating wasn't quite so severe as it would have been had £20k been in the box, very welldone Hannah on £11,176. Spend it well.

No. I didn't win a seal, I just won the prize-less guess the amount. I get a bit too excited when my amount gets to 2-box.
As for the tags, I never really care - I just play just for fun.

Good game today - that was certainly a YouTube moment! :P

Shame there was more in the game for her, but the offers were still very respectful...and yet another five-figure win!

Dan's point about regrets proven in spectacular fashion - someone turns down £14k, takes £11k, could have had £17k, the box had £15k, and her regrets are over missing out on £3k for a ND and not £6k for not playing on.

I may have gone all the way myself on a board that stable, but the eight-box Deal was clearly the right Deal for her and she let herself get talked out of it. And she knew it.

Let's see how despicably low the offers go now in order to encourage more people to follow Hannah and not be true to themselves...

Only caught that from the 2nd break but that whooping may have been a bit much for me if I'd seen it all the way through!

The only mistake I thought she made was effectively showing her hand to the banker which allowed him to make a lower offer than expected at 5-box. I certainly expected her to deal at 8-box and thought the board had improved (become more stable) despite the loss of the £100k.

And at that point I was torn between wanting her to deal to keep the red streak going, plus I knew she'd be forced on with soemthing rubbish if she left a £20k/blue or £15k/blue last pair with both blues being worth pence, and I really didn't want to see her win nothing - and on the other hand I would have fancied a gamble myself, and would have beeen looking for £15k like Sal got on that configuration with two different tiny blues (and he was lambasted by basicasic for dealing  ) , so part of me wanted her to go on.

I thought she got a little bit over-upset at the end given the outcome, she hardly missed out on loads, it wasn't as if she'd missed out on tens of thousands or won nothing having no-dealt a power 5 amount? Tommii was a bit the same IIRC. I guess she was just over-emotional!

Anyway good to see another solid amount won!

Surprised Hannah didn't take the 8 box offer on the coin flip that is a 4/4 board at 8 box. 5 box was a sensible decison for someone who I think wasn't prepared to have gambled on a red / pennies finish.

In the end, as soon as she took the £50k out, she shouldn't have had any regret about the final result. Better to have dealt than have risked the banker forcing her into a red/blue gamble and win pennies.

another similar game. The 8 box no deal seemed a bit nervous but she would have been emotional whatever happened.
Couldn't criticise the 5 box deal with her circumstances even though I disagreed with it.

Hannah was quite a zany character - that kangaroo hop by the east wing must have been really bizarre for anyone just tuning in, it seemed quite random anyway! You could see the relief on David's face when the whole sequence was over! :P

Anyway, I thought she had made a few mistakes in terms of her relationship with the banker. Firstly, she had mentioned that an offer (£14,176) was pretty much equal to her outstanding debt, thereby giving away her utility curve, and then she said something like, "it's a great offer... therefore, no deal", the 'therefore' suggesting her true inclination was probably to deal - and if I gave away such information, I would feel no option but to deal, as a good round may only now give a smaller increase than before.

In the end, she had a mediocre round, and we had a similar 5 box board to recent games. Just a frustrating finish to take the lowest offer around the final sequence of offers and the box value. But not a monumental loss.

A really entertaining game, the East Wing Kangaroo hop was brilliant.

I thought she was going to take the 8 box offer, so her no deal then came as a bit of a surprise. It was a shame to see the boxes go against her as such, but just over £11,000 is still decent money.

Same here. Talking of the guess the amount, I must try and get round to entering that soon.

That was the classic game for being able to make a calculated gamble at 8 box knowing it's likely
you can cut your losses with something reasonable if it doesn't quite work out. At 5 box you usually
have to be a full-on gambler to go on unless the offer is very poor and/or the board really bad.

Well played Hannah, good result. :D

Hannah was a great contestant, so bubbly and full of personality, and the East Wing Kangaroo hop was a classic moment, but that was a cruel board, some really bad luck...and a completely irrefutable Banker win, personally i can't remember the last time both the last two boxes exceeded the deal in value. Okay it was only a few grand but still..ouch!

On the plus side still a 5 figure win (just) and i'm sure the money will be a great help to Hannah and her family

Before this episode was filmed, the floor manager actually got me to try to inject some American-style cheering (as in USA DoND-style cheering) in the audience, especially if 1p was revealed in the first round, since it was revealed that I traveled nearly 5000 km (over 3000 miles) from across the pond to be in the audience.

I heard from the floor manager after the game was filmed (or may have been during a break during filming) that when the first box was revealed to be the QM, someone in the audience actually yelled a profanity, which may or may not have been BEEPED out if it was loud enough to have been heard and broadcast.

Probably the only non-UKer to be in the audience ever...
