Noel talks about how the show has gone back to 'the age of timing'.

Today's player is BETTY and Noel talks up her being odd, apparently...

Elizabeth Wilson. Her last job was as an administrator at a hospital.

She's a sporadically published writer. She's written about bits of Catholic history... and a lot obviously got edited out as Noel faked a break link. They even played the musical sting. BRILLIANT.

Greg comes down to deliver something to the Banker. Noel gets an envelope. This could be significant.

Indeed it is, it's the first WakeyWatch: the envelope hinted at Wakeyism. 'Are you going to go all the way?' triggers only innuendo, though.

Allan, Adie and Betty had it the game before theirs, that makes 3 players. :? Besides, she could have it again, it's happened before where players have had it 2 games running.

She has no system, she jokes she has no friends, she's made comedy Wakeyist hints, she's about to start her game.

Box 2 (Ellen) - 10p
Box 6 (Sam) - £10
Box 4 (Rich) - £1
Box 3 (Jackie) - £5
Box 9 (Leon) - £20,000

The applause is belated and triggered by Noel. I'd still like that round.

After box 4, Noel said something like 'don't get too spikey'? He was talking it up though. After Box 3, he said an all-blue opener hadn't happened in a long time.

Banker got this poem:

If we deal kindly with each other
And the boxes play their part
I'll be going home to Darlington
With a very happy heart

Banker appears to quote Wikipedia article on Darlington. Talks up the game...

Banker's offer:

£9,000

Which is warmly applauded.

Opening offer banter is purely comedic...

NO DEAL.

He almost barks 'Thank you'.

Box 8 (Ryan) - £5,000
Box 1 (Vincenzo) - £1,000

Noel is on fine jocular form, especially with Vincenzo. He isn't objecting to these orange hits, and with no Power 5 hit so far he is right to do so.

Noel makes a very amusing break link mocking Betty's local history talk.

£3,000 or under here and I think she'll be fine

Adwatch: big push for the Co-operative, two ads in a block there.

Also advertised are the Now music quiz DVD, new film Changeling, the DVD release of Mamma Mia, an overpriced perfume, the latest classical-crossover project (this one overtly religious), jewellry chain H Samuel, and... whoever's advertising this is doing it in a sexist way... oh, Stella Artois.

We're back at the Darlington Tourist Information Centre in Bristol.

Box 15 (Lucy) - 50p

'It's a great game so far' he says before the 50p. After it, he goes as far as to say it's 'wonderful'.

The Banker can't see the light at the end of the tunnel...

Banker's offer:

£12,500

Talked up far more than it deserved.

Betty talks about her age in a manner that to me hints at a possible Utility Watch, but Noel flips it into gallows humour before the NO DEAL.

'Come on Betty' cries Noel.
