Helen's game was probably my least favourite of the three I saw, with tomorrow's being my favourite. Frankly, she was far too shy to be on Deal or no Deal. I remember my mother was getting pretty irritated with her, because she just seemed to agonise over boxes and mumble things. I had to tell my mother to shut up because she began to say she was rooting for a blue win - and we were sitting in the relatives section, who all knew Helen :laughing

Having said that, I was still really rooting for Helen, and I think at one point I got really into the game, I think I let out a massive cheer when Helen went on at £12,700 and got a blue box, and my mum looked at me a bit strangely :P

Noel really shined though during this game, it was because of him that Helen actually opened up a bit more, although it was like drawing blood from a stone at first. She was clearly overwhelmed by the whole experience - but managed a very convincing win - probably the best part of the game. It also meant that I saw an OPW, as well as yesterday's banker win, plus both the sunshine and the sunburn by this point. Personally, I felt the deal was justified -and frankly, she would've dealt the £12,700 if it hadn't been for the sunshine in a heartbeat - so I recognised her bravery there.

I did find the similiarity between her and Adam's board quite alarming, and in fact disappointing - as a pilgrim I was hoping to see some very different games, but I didn't really. It didn't matter in the long run, I suppose, as the suitcase twist did make the two games much more different.

Well i thought that was a quite good game, she is very similar to my sister i think, as my sister wants to go into fashion, and maybe one day design her own clothes.

I didn't think she was too shy, although she may have been a little nervous. It wouldn't matter if she was overly shy though, as she came across as a nice person who obviously enjoyed being there and therefore deserved her place on DOND. Someone like Lance recently was rather shy though and wasn't really a great character either. Whereas there have been players who have been great but have been rather shy. Likewise there have been players who have been very outgoing but highly irritating (e.g. Tommii). There are also some who aren't shy or nervous, but just don't seem to want to be there - e.g. Colleen who acted as though the world was about to end. I think it's nice that they balance out the players like Tommii and Bunney with quieter / shyer ones like Lance and Helen.

I liked Helen, she was ok, although indeed she was rather quiet on the wings and hadn't done much. She could've quite easily played on at 4-box and then dealt a respectable bail out offer, but as it turned out she got an OPW! I found the stuff with the garters quite amusing and overall it was a nice feel-good show to take us up to the final show of the Season tomorrow, which will no doubt be quite a fun affair with the contestants having to pretend they're about to have a 4-week break (a break which in reality lasted 18 hours or so!).

Oh she was absolutely lovely, don't get me wrong...but they cut a lot of nervousness out of the actual show. They did the same with Adam as well, in fact. I remember when Noel asked him "how are we doing?" regarding the sound and lighting, and Adam stuttered for a few sentences nervously before coming out with an answer. In the finished product, the answer just rolled off his tongue. :P

And they edited a lot of Helen's game in a similar fashion. As I said, Noel spoke to her a lot, and she didn't really say much - but that was only really during the first half of the game. When she started getting a bit more luck, she perked up - which you saw in the final cut. :)

Oh I see! That's quite interesting actually and quite good really that they edit out the "worst" of the nervousness, as it wouldn't do anyone any favours if they left it in the final edit! I can understand it'd probably get a bit frustrating being at a recording of a player like that, but once it was shown on-screen it seemed fine, which is the main thing. ;)

I suppose when you go to the audience it's pot luck what shows you'll see - you may end up seeing players like Thanh (who apparently filmed her show in 45 mins as she barely said anything!) or ones like Pat M / Clive / Lance (1) (whose shows no doubt took literally hours to film!).

Out of interest, how long did it take to film the shows you went to see?

Honestly, I can't be sure. I think all three were about two hours each, including breaks. The filming is done in about four segments, which are divided by the ad breaks, and the player selection.

I was happy with the shows I got to see, although I'll admit that Derek and Em had better "games" - it doesn't really affect your enjoyment though. As I said, I enjoyed tomorrow's show the most - just for the pure comedy of it. It was a bit more on the Pat M/Clive side of things than Adam's and Helen's, so I certainly got a mix of games! Having said that, you'll probably tune in and smile occasionally, and then wonder why the audience member are dying with laughter. For some reason, everything that Noel says is hilarious when you're there. I swear he puts a spell on the dream factory or something... :smt023

Talking of Noel (and slightly off-topic) but did he make any "bloopers"? They've only ever really left one in and that was at the start of Clive's game when he fluffed his intro...

I don't think he did, actually. Nah, I'd definitely remember if he did. I was very impressed with Noel, to be honest - considering he's often the most annoying part of the show for me. He's very quick-witted and funny. Plus he said he liked my hat, so he's back in my good books. :laughing

Helen could have been the newbie for all I recognised her at the start. Did she have to blub every time she mentioned her parents? It's not as if she'd lost them tragically or something. She was annoying and irritating, and I hope she bought Carol a drink, cos she didn't like she'd have played on without that wee bit of encouragement.

Mr. Banker blew it again, no way should he have upped the offer if his job is to get them out cheaply, it was obvious she wasn't going any further.

I think Noel deserves a lot of credit, bear in mind he's done that 800+ times, and three times a day, saying welcome to Thursday's game when it's probably really Monday!I wonder if it ever gets mind-numbing?

2 box games at 5 box are always fascinating gameplay wise and we got one today. It was obvious that she was going to deal when she did and when the audience cheers for a deal like that, it's a good sign that if was the right deal for her.

An OK game today. Nice to see an OPW!

I bet tomorrow's player will go to 5 box, get sunshine and have the perfect game.

Well she was a lot nicer than the last Helen to come from the end of the east wing.....and an awful lot prettier too!! :D

A pleasant enough game and a nice result, though I thought it probably was worth risking another box as there still would have been a decent get-out at 3-box given she couldn;t take both the biggies, and also I thought the increase from 5-box wasn't that good given she took out the lowest value. Still, it wouldn't have been possible to have won that sum if she had picked sunburn, and the 5-box offer would have been less too and she may have dealt that, and not got the holiday either. I'm glad she didn't as it probably would have been a carbon copy of Adam's game (undeal offered and all too!).

I think they put on a quiet player to build up suitably for the season finale tomorrow!

Enjoy the money Helen!
