Noel wonders who has made the big mistake now...

Noel opens box 6 and reveals 10p :D

Box 16 contains the £75,000

Noel puts a lot of pressure on newbie Ben when opening his box 16 :P

It needs to be the £75,000 for the sake of it - 102 shows since it last came to the table otherwise!!!

AND IT ISN'T!!!!! WOOOO!

102 shows!!!

The new players, if they have a red, tend to have £75,000 and £100,000 now!

I'm glad Alicia did well today she was cool :D I felt her offer was a bit low myself she should have had a 30K plus offer at the point she dealt.
I personally would have gone on.
But if Alicia is happy i'm happy because she got away with it :-D well done!!

I'm annoyed Noel didn't ask if she would have swapped as she said right from the start the box she was keeping until the end

No, they don't. There's a 1 in 11 chance of one of those two turning up tomorrow, just like there is every other day.

A good game, with sensible play - turning down an offer above £20k on a board that warranted more, then getting out once a stellar position turned into a scary one. I might have done the same, I might well not, but had I not I'd have dealt for less at two-box.

A very good result for Alicia, much better than the Alicia on my series who won 1p!

When DOND gets knocked down, it gets up again! Great game today to follow Bernie's. Those camera shots of the wings at the start haven't been used in *ages*, about April I think, there's usually wing banter and stuff instead.

It's always fantastic when a player goes at exactly the right time, especially when it's a win as big as that. What's even more incredible about the £75,000's absence is that the last two players to have it both swapped it away before the end, so the last player to actually have £75,000 on the table right at the end of the game was Postie Brian on March 4th, *160* shows ago!!

Really well done on the £27,100, Alicia, it's been a memorable first week of October and I hope tomorrow's game continues it!

You have to remember though that the average DOND contestant won't know all the stats about DOND like us forum members do, and so aren't likely to swap away a "bad" box such as box 6... because they won't know of its past history. Also the games being shown on TV at the time of recording obviously wouldn't have included the recent run of box 6 and its bad luck, so current contestants may not know about it unless they are informed by someone on the production crew. Maybe the woman who's always in the audience could've told them about box 6... she's always there. :P

Anyway well done to Alicia for dealing when she did... I was expecting the 5-box offer to be about £30k - £35k, but I suppose the banker was just "punishing" her for losing the substantial reds that she lost after she no dealt the £22,100! I hope she enjoys the money.
