I can't say I'm not disappointed when someone deals with £250k still on the board. And with the £75k as backup I thought it was worth one more round to attempt to go for it. As it turned out Alicia would still have had £18K+ as a get out had she decided to take the chance. Not as much as £27K+ admittedly but she might have had the £250K left on the board at 2 box.

Still you can't argue with the result (as much as I'd like to ;) ) and its was a sizeable win especially considering the 10p box contents.

Time for more stats, today for Alicia. :)

Boxes: 11 ( 0.10 1 5 50 250 500 1,000 20,000 50,000 75,000 250,000 )
Offer: 16,100 ( 45% )
Average: 36,073
Balance: 101 to 72,045
2-box average: 35% of time above current, 49% of time above offer.

A reasonable offer, though I sense Alica knows what she's doing. The audience and some of the players on the wings seem apprehensive, possibly as the board is polarising. When you're playing, you have to show you're prepared to take things all the way, even if it's just a fraction of the time.

And also, anyone who opens the boxes really slowly, is likely to deal early. Well, that's the impression I have. :P

Boxes: 8 ( 0.10 5 250 1,000 20,000 50,000 75,000 250,000 )
Offer: 22,100 ( 45% )
Average: 49,532
Balance: 314 to 98,750
2-box average: 29% of time above current, 64% of time above offer.

A good board becomes a great one, and a lacklustre offer by the banker. He could be thinking there's a better opportunity ahead, which he was right in thinking, or felt his choice of offer was limited.

Still, always dangerous to risk the board becoming too one-sided. Possibly a mistake.

Boxes: 5 ( 0.10 250 1,000 75,000 250,000 )
Offer: 27,100 ( 42% )
Average: 65,250
Balance: 300 to 130,200
2-box average: 40% of time above current, 70% of time above offer.

The banker keeps his cool in the fiery heat of the board, making an offer with less value than the previous one, though there are only 2 strong reds.

Interesting mind-game tactics at 6-box, though with the average so high, Noel seemed more annoyed than perturbed!

If this offer didn't work, just as the banker said at 2-box, one of them would have made a massive mistake. Fortunately, when Alicia dealt, he got it right.

And this worked out well for Alicia, as the 3/5 chance of losing more than 95% of the offer came true.

Good play overall by both sides. Enjoy £27,100, Alicia. :D

That's the trouble - "average" luck would have left 75k and one of the lower three values at the last pair, and I'd be annoyed at having to deal for only two-thirds of what i turned down the round before! And I'd feel like I had to deal to avoid being the highest ever no-dealer who went on to win a blue. :)

It wouldn't have taken much less for me to go on though - replace the 1k with the 20k like in Kelsie's game and I'm definitely risking it! (Same as I'd have dealt her 29k if the 20k had been replaced by any value of 5k or less....)

That said, I was really pleased she didn't fall for the bankers tricks at 8-box, and it was great to see a good calculating game with no silly gimmicks - and for another lovely young lady to sell Box 6 containing small change for a life-enhancing sum! That seems to be happeening quite regularly lately....

I thought the offer at 8 box was mean and a no brainer no deal compared to nev/Nicola's offers. the offer at 5 box was mean but reasonable to take it.

I think I would have expected 30K for offer 4 + 35K for offer 5 and 22-26K for offer 6.

tricky to say whether I'd have dealt at offer 5 or offer 6.

Haha -- I would've offered her £35,000 just to see those lovely eyes sparkling!

Did anyone notice, when Noel told her, "Goodbye from the game," she started to get a little misty-eyed there? Looked like she needed a great big hug... but then Noel mentioned the £27,100 and she cheered right up!

Good game but that £27,100 was a stingy offer.

That was close, she should go for box 21 in the third round

Why Box 21?

It's because the QM was in that box yesterday

Oh, Ok! So you would like to see abit of Mally's law, but with the boxes instead of the players?

i have one thing to say about this - It's when box 21 is on the table you should expect a horrible game. Not when it had the £250k yesterday.

Anyway some stupidly inflated offers at the start, but welldone Alicia on £27,100.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading everything you guys have posted about my game! Some mixed reactions but I stand by every decision I made and went with my gut instinct every time. If I had gone to the end I would have taken the swap because I 16 means a lot to me. That said, the fear of going home with 10p was too much to bear! And yeah I was a tad misty eyed when noel said goodbye from the game, it was the most fantastic experience and i'm grateful for every second!
