Noel wonders if Stan would have been the 12th member of the 1p club... The banker asks if Stan would have taken the £9,500, and Stan replies NO!! The banker says he is going to kill Stan!!!!

Banker would have offered

£1,500

Stan seemed a decent old buffer and the game never scaled the heights of excitement or tension but he got out at the right time and avoided the 1p. Can't ask more than that. (unless you're a Wakeyist of course ;) )

More after-game stats, today for Stan. :)

Boxes: 11
Average: 22,183
Low: 94
High: 44,273
Offer: 10,000 ( 45.08% )

Av goes up: 47%
Av above offer: 47%

0.01 0.5 1 5 1000 3000 15000 50000 75000 100000

A reasonable offer for the board. With a good high value and likelihood of the average increasing, this is a natural no deal.

Lee breaks the first rule of being on the wings: Help the player, not make him doubt himself!

Boxes: 8
Average: 24,126
Low: 2
High: 48,250
Offer: 10,000 ( 41.45% )

Av goes up: 45%
Av above offer: 45%

0.01 0.5 1 5 3000 15000 75000 100000

A similar offer to the first. The average's increased, but the low value's sunk to just £2, making this a likely all-or-nothing game. No gain without pain here.

Boxes: 5
Average: 23,000
Low: 0
High: 46,000
Offer: 11,500 ( 50.00% )

Av goes up: 40%
Av above offer: 40%

0.01 0.5 1 15000 100000

Ed's comment here, saved Stan from disaster. It could also be said, that Ed prevented Stan from extracting the most from the game, but the board is just too weak for Stan to do this.

The hi-lo values aren't bad, but they can only be created if the player goes all the way here. I'd recommend players only no deal, if they refuse to take a 2-box offer, or can afford to extract the small extra percentage when dealing at 2-box.

And nice one for missing the 1p club, too. The banker was miffed at that. ;)

Wow, that's now Asim, Debbie, Joan, Brenda and now Stan who've managed to sell the 1p box in the last few months, if they'd have all gone to the end we'd have *sixteen* members of the 1p club!

Really great Banker spanking today, I really hope he finds his brother. Well done on the £11,500, Stan, great victory!

Well done Stan - always great to see someone sell the 1p for a decent amount, and keep the Banker waiting for that elusive 12th member of his favourite club! Hope he finds his brother (or has found him since the show was filmed?)

By the way it was Ed who the Banker said he wanted to kill, not Stan (for giving the advice relating to Maria's game which probably saved Stan from the 1p club) - his game should be interesting anyway!

Very well played. He sold his box for 1.15 million times its actual value, and took the highest possible offer. Congrats, Stan on a deal well made.

Thank goodness he didn't play to the end or it would have been another fine mess.... :-D

Yes, I really enjoyed that, especially with the cricket theme - reminiscent of Brian's golf theme, also with a great deal for a pocket change box!

That £1,500 proveout offer did worry me somewhat though, if he ends up offering 10% of the red on an all-or-peanuts finish, I sincerely hope that was just for show - I always think even 20% is very mean!!

And Ed is the best stats guy I've seen in a while, possibly since...er...Ned. :) Hopefully he'll foil the banker a few more times yet before he plays, as it'll be interesting to see whther he gets extreme generosity or extreme meanness in his game - I can't see it being in between!

And trust Danielle to have the quarter-million, she been there yonks and I was expecting her to play today. That's got to annoy you when that happens, she'll probably end up plating and having 1p tommorw like Kascey or Giorgio!! And with Steve having the £100,000 as well, I think Jean and Lee's boxes somehow managed to slip two positions down the wing!! :)

Well doen Stan on a great avoidance of the penny club!

Just watched it and glad he did a good deal. :D

with regards to the offer, it was a bit low but only a bit I think I'd expect 13-15K. It was clever in that the banker learnt from his mistake of offering 4 figures in Maria's game.

Tricky gamble, if I knew I would get say 5K on a blue vs 15K finish I might go for it but hard to say.
