Lawks, she only went and took the two blues out right away!

Third amazing swap in a row - expect the first ten minutes of each show to now be eight minutes of Wakeyism and two minutes mulling over an opening swap offer!

Joan says she would have played on there.

Noel opens box 10 and reveals £50,000

Box 7 contains the £35,000

Pretty... awkward really. But the swap worked wonders, and £25,000 is more than the game ever looked likely to produce at one point. She just had more luck than courage, and while that produces unfavourable results it's better than the other way round in terms of how much money is won!

What a silly woman for dealing at 25K that was a EASY NO DEAL and she paid the price for it.
I knew she would have one of the big 3 by 8 box stage so serves her right.

Wakeyism makes the game exciting. Gambling is what people want. If everybody took your attitude to the game there'd be no viewers and no show.

And, on the flip side of the coin, if everyone no dealt to the end it'd be boring and people would only watch the last 10 minutes on YouTube, so viewers would be 0. :)

Yes, wakeyism does seem to dominate the show it has to be said and Noel, as ever sado as it might be sometimes, recognizes this and plays on it. I doubt that he bosses people about in his real life (unless he is into masichism or something) and I doubt that he has the gambling views. Then again, he is a millionaire and so his view of big money is clouded and if everyone was a wakey then it would get boring.

I might well be;)

Thats why my game would be a damn good one ;) with a confetti end.

I seriously just had a strong feeling she had one of them.

Which Is why I could not understand why she went along with the few wimps in the audience who said deal despite having 3 significantly higher sums.

If people like these were always the type of contestants we would never ever have life changing figure wins.

I'd love to know how many of the ordinary audience - the mass audience, the ones who form the backbone of the show, the ones whose screens being turned on provide the ad revenue that will be the show's sole source of life if the LTL is removed - think that gambling is a good thing to be encouraged.

Look at the newspapers the majority of the people read. How many of them treat gambling, at least on some level, as a socially damaging pastime? I can name three right off the bat - the Telegraph, Express, and Mail (the latter of which ran a concerted and successful campaign against casino expansion last year, at DoND's peak). Note also that these have a substantial readership amongst old people - probably the most substantial age group watching TV at 4:15pm.

Still think everyone wants Wakeyism?

*Sigh*... £25,000 is a huge sum of money. 'Nuff said. :)

I was worried her game would involve a strong finish, and for some reason I was also worried she'd do a careful deal and it would turn out to be the wrong decision.

But the way I see it, it might have been an OBW, but £25,000 is still a great addition to a so-far valuable week. £140,000 won in three days!

Well it was all going so well up to 5 box.

3 high reds and 2 blues. A golden opportunity for a big win. I'll never fathom how anyone can deal on a board like that no matter what the offer. But as soon as the Banker offered £25k I saw her eyes glaze over and common sense just evaporate. Grab the money and run.

The proveout felt almost inevitable and quite frankly after a cop out like that I was glad to see the £50k in her box.

See h if all contestants were like you and KP the power 5 would NEVER be won because your all too cautious :) .

25K is nice money but 35K 50K and 75K is a hell of alot more and I know how much i'd rather have.

Basic you are the only person who talks sense most of the time.

I'm waiting for Redrum to post and flame me since he seems to always like to get a dig at me lol.

Significantly higher? The offer was £5,000 more than the next sum down on the board!

No Deal on that no matter what the offer? I presume that means even something above the mean? Granted, the mean was below the median, so it was possible to have an AMO that could be taken but with a 60% chance of an OBW, but... there was a 10% chance of an all-blue finish, and a 60% chance of an all-or-peanuts finish where, assuming a No Deal, that chance of winning next to nothing is 50%.

If everyone was like me the Power 5 would never be won? I'd have won £160,000 on Kelsie's game, £50,000 on Jon's game, would have won £35,000 on Rossano's game but for a swap, might have won £100,000 just two days ago... for crying out loud, I'd have turned down £55,000 on Shirley's game.

Conversely, I'd have had a Power 5 win from Matt's game... Deal at offer 2 for, um, £35,000 :)

I take on board everything you say about gambling and I think most people are well aware that gambling can be very damaging. But they are also aware that this is a show where no-one is gambling with a penny of their own money and no one ever loses. Ever! Everyone wins something.

That is why you can safely gamble to your hearts content and will be a guaranteed winner no matter what.

A non-gambler's paradise. Of course everybody wants Wakeyism.
