i agree with most of you's said. I'm not so much a gambler compared with what you are and would often deal at 5 box but know enough about odds and previous games to not deal cr*p offers. That deal was a little flat like Sophie's although i was glad it came off but was disappointing when he dealt. and i do think the offer could have been 9/10K higher.

For once, I agree with basicasic.

I think the offer at 5-box was pitched so that it would look better than it actually was, Ron was clearly never going to go all the way.

A very, very odd game, and a spectacular wrong deal/right time game. It is, I suppose, the antithesis to games like (say) John G's or Fin's, and any OPW has a feel-good factor surrounding it.

For what it's worth, I'd have won £35,000 from going to the end and swapping today.

Well, I don't quite know what to make of that! I totally agree with basicasic, I thought the 15k was rubbish, and groaned somewhat when he dealt what I thought was a very low offer, despite Caroline's excellent advice (hopefully the banker may give her some decent offers!). I'd have been looking for at least 5k more, if not 10k more with that board.

But then the way the proveout went, I was really happy that he avoided winning the pound I would have done! (Very few would risk swapping on a low blue/power 5 finish too)! Any OPW makes me happy, even if it's a low 4 figure one like Jenine's for example.

I only tend to get disappointed when the player deals for a lower sum than I feel the board warrants, and it would have been totally the right decision to go on (Kathleen, Kelsie for instance) - and even then i could understand why they dealt the offers they did, I could still empathise with them. When someone deals what I think is a very good offer and misses out on loads (eg, recent Brian, Easter David, Irish Patrick, 250k in the box Jon), I can just shrug it off as bad luck that they didn't get better boards to go on with!

When someone no-deals what I think is a no-brainer deal and it goes totally pear-shaped, I must admit I do find the funny side, especially if I don't really like the player (Nudist Di for instance!)

Oh and I loved the new LTL, but am still a bit disappointed we still don't have contestants announcing it - wondering who it was going to be is one of the things I miss - especially when people like Lance, Gus and Harry were doing it!

Well done Ron for avoiding the trainwreck loads of people would have done!

Ron did a deal when he thought it was right for him - the £15k was a good offer in as much as it tested Ron's gambling instincts, although I expected the offer to have been around the £20k - £25k mark.
