No you didn't. You thought that he had it. You couldn't possibly know that he had £35,000 unless you are the independent adjudicator.

But, I agree, at least he got £9,250- money which I would do pretty much anything for (Within reason).

I agree. He can't be blamed for taking the deal. I had a horrible feeling he would lose whatever.

Interesting how psychologically 1k instead of £100 can make the difference. i'm *beeped* off about that game anyway because he should have been offered 10-15k at 8 box so he could have had a decision to make.

I suppose it's the idea that £1,000 is actually far more spendable than £100, even though it's just a £900 difference. You could get a good holiday with £1,000. £100 might get the flight.

Although, Rossano's offer was only £800 more than Alan's but, as it was 5-figures, it seems (psychologically) like a lot more than £9,250.

That was one heck of a roller coaster ride!

It wasn't looking good at 8-box stage and it looked as though we were heading for our first blue win of the season. Luckily though, Alan managed to turn it around at the last minute! I think the £9,250 offer was a bit low though, I was expecting something like £15,000.

Not the best turn-around game we've ever had, but least he didn't go home with a blue. Welldone Alan, enjoy the money! :D

Yes a low red can often make the difference. good banker play I suppose, he had Alan trapped.
I believe that's the 2nd worst deal on a 35K box after Sarah B's game which had a few similarities. :(

Personally I think the low offers were suitable for the game. It never took off and the offers have to reflect the round before. I was a little dissapointed at the final offer and once again when the offer was taken but at least something was salvaged out of a terrible game. A £35,000 box win would have most certainly raised the roof after such a terrible game where an all blue squashdown was in sight. The offers were low enough for an average gambler to grab the £35,000 player win with both hands!

A good turnaround today, I thought Alan was going to win a blue. £9,250 is actually the lowest win of the season so far, but it's still good money.

Well done Alan - did well to recover something from a pretty horrible position of £35k and six blues, although a shame he turned out to have the big amount in his box after taking a relatively poor final offer. Shame he didn't get more reward than that, but the Banker obviously pitched it right as it turned out.

so robert would have got offered more than rossano and alan, even though he had the worst fallback of just 10p.

Good game though.

We went from Argh to Yay today! Horrible when all those reds went but it was incredible that he went from six blues v £35k to 1 blue v £35k, a great turnaround. Sadly he didn't get the £35k, but I massively prefer this situation to him going on and getting £100!

I dunno, first Brian goes and now Alan has, this week's looking good for memorable characters playing though! Well done on that £9,250, Alan!

Well the 5 reds in a row took the wind out of Alan's game's sails but having battled back from a precarious situation to face a somewhat mediocre-for-the-board offer at 2 box I knew he'd grab it.

I really hoped he would have the guts to go the whole way but this is one instance where I don't think the influence of friends in the audience was crucial. He was outta there and that's why the offer was on the low side. He struck me as a bit 'sensible' throughout his time on the show and that's probably the reason for some of the other low offers that came his way.

Another opportunity goes begging for the sake of a bit of nerve.

After the quarter-mill went, I though the only likely results were outright disaster or a cut your losses deal at 5 box for about 3k....I think he did well to get what he did in the end. Shame the banker made the earlier offers insulting, you never know what he'd going to do with the analytic players - sometimes he'll give them massive offers like Eric, Paul H, Aaron, and other times do the opposite like Alan and Geordie!

Considering he could never hit the 35k, to have the last 6 boxes on the wings all blue was absolutely rotten luck, but I was so releieved he didn't have a complete trainwreck and won a nice sum, even though it's the first 4-figure win in Season 3. Well done Alan!

I tuned in half way saw the board and was pretty *beep* off about the insulting 8 box offer. I can't understand why the banker was so mean towards Alan.

He was generous to debbie at 8 box in a similar/slightly worse situation.

A pretty impressive turnaround from a seemingly hopeless position. Appeared to be a thoroughly decent chap as well. Surely even Basicasic must have something nice to say about his fellow Scot?

Ah, apparently not...

He was a thoroughly decent chap and I liked him a lot. I genuinely wished him well and hoped he'd win a large amount of money. And having turned the game around from a very dodgy position I just wished he'd been able to see it through to the end and collect the £35k.

I really liked Brian too and was very disappointed he didn't see his game through as well.

totally agree with your view of this game, the £900 difference was too much, its funny though that alan had the same number box as me. 16.
he had to gamble more times than me at the end of his game. i would have took his offer at that point, and yes (psychologically) £1,000 v £100, its a massive difference, RED OR BLUE when you are looking at the board.

Oh now that is interesting.

And if it had been any other blue at the end... eight grand? In a way it was a shame he kept the £100, because I reckon that he'd have taken the full-on all-or-peanuts gamble with a Banker's Power 5 blue if the offer was suitably low, as I suspect it would have been!!

Basicasic - would you have preferred him winning £100 through going to the end, or what actually happened? From the tone of some of your comments, it is either the former or you are passing judgement with the benefit of hindsight, and I wouldn't consider either of those acceptable.
