Mark says through tears... well nothing really. Stephen took over.

Mark wins £5,000, and we'll be back again tomorrow, unless we're all blown up.

Aside from having some influence on his appetite for taking risks or otherwise, why is this relevant?

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

The last 3 offers I have to say were really well pitched, I was unsure at 5 and 3 box and while I would've gone for it had I made it to 2 box I could see a good percentage of players dealing that out of relief and to ensure they left with a red.

Thankfully unlike many modest money chases this game had a happy ending. :)

A real rollercoaster of a game, glad he got a 5k OPW out of it.

I find it interesting how people react to offers, deliberate over decisions based on their annual income. The same with Uche who was a GP, I'm not surprised she went to the end, like Mark did.

If Mark was a cleaner and probably on national living wage, then I'd have expected him to have a much tougher decision at £2,010, or indeed previous offers to that.

It's not a dig at his wage, merely I'm more fascinated by how he would value the low offers there seems to be in this series, compared to say, Karen in S1.

That's why it's relevant to me, and thought others would be interested to.

Any other questions?

Agreed, especially on this version I'd have few qualms turning down poor 4 figure offers, and would mainly take generous ones because I know that mathematically the risk just isn't worth it. But if I still worked at my old cleaning job that paid very little, I'd have a bit more urgency than that to leave with something significant.

It's an interesting angle to consider.

For me sums like £4,785 and £2,010 are obviously very nice to have, but aren't going to change my life. For someone who has no savings and constantly struggles to make ends meet, both offers would have been much harder to refuse.

I was a student at the height of the Edmonds DoND (so not earning) and always had a target of around £20k in mind, but would've dealt mathematically decent offers of lower amounts. This was reflected in my actual game of course, where I settled for £6.5k which was a reasonable offer for the board.

Even though I've been earning and saving for 14 years, my mindset on this hasn't really changed. I suspect I might just be too hardwired to my mid-2000s attitude towards the game though.
