Roy's game today.

Noel talks about Lola's win of just £100 yesterday...he says that one of the main reasons she felt lucky was because the £100,000 had never been on the table before. Noel says he looked into it and learnt that in 34 games, 5 amounts have never been in the players box; £10, £1,000, £15,000, £35,000 and of course, the £100,000, which despite Lola's beliefs was not in her box....Noel confirms that the £100,000 wasn't in her box before the incident where a box was dropped, meaning all the in-play boxes were reshuffled...he wonders if one of those absent 5 sums of money will be on the table today....we looj at the board...



Roy has Box 20 today. Roy Lennon is a 67-year old retired salesman...he says he worked in marketing and sales for most of his life before retiring a few years ago. Roy's wife Nancy is in the audience to support him today, and Roy says that she's been there for most of his life as well! Noel tells Roy to tell us something interesting about himself, and Roy says that he's a huge wrestling fan and used to take part in it...he says that was very long ago though, but he still goes to see Wrestlemania every year. Noel asks what Roy's attitude is to the game, and Roy says he's a gambler, and he thinks that this once in a lifetime oppurtunity of £250,000 should not be sold for a low sum...he says that it's easy to say these things but when the money is there in front of him it may all change!

Noel asks Nancy what she makes of this, and she says it's all a bit of a confusion...Roy explains to Noel that Nancy has been with him for all 19 games he was on the wings, but she doesn't understand the rules...Noel says we'll try and help her understand them! Roy confirms he chose Box 20 at random...

Not bad, Roy says...Noel says the round had a shaky start but there was a nice recovery. The banker rings and says that he was all ready to give Roy the nickname Red Roy, but then he had to end the round with two blues...Roy apologizes for ruining the bankers fun! The banker says this is going to be a battle...

That's a good opening offer, Noel says...for that gap in the right hand side, it's good as it's one of the highest opening offers so far...Roy says after all that gambling talk, it'd be a bit embarrassing to deal now!

Roy says it's an interesting board, and the banker rings and says that interesting is an appropriate word....he says he's still very much in a good mood after Lola's downfall yesterday, and he tells Roy that this was the highest sum of money Lola could have won....

That's a very good offer, Noel says. Keith tells Roy that it may only be the second offer, but £8,000 is over half the mean, which is rare for a second offer...he says that it should be considered even though it's the early stages of the game. Noel asks what Nancy thinks, and she has no idea! Roy says it's best if we don't get her opinion....

The audience cheer and Roy looks pleased...he says that £12,500 could help him a lot...him and Nancy have been planning to move away to the country...he says £12,500 won't help much with that, but it's still a lot of money...Nikki asks if he'd regret dealing and having the £100,000 in his box more than if he lost it all, and Roy says definately...

Roy says that the last box was a sting in the tail, and Noel says it's a shame we couldn't have kept that nice group of three..he says it's still a strong board, and Roy agrees. The banker rings and says that really, he shouldn't be going up as he found the £50,000, so Roy should note how generous he is being...he says he was going to offer £14,999, but he thought Roy is too good for that....

Everyone applauds the offer...Roy says we haven't had a sweep for a while, so Noel conducts one with the question 'what would you do?'

Very brave, Noel says...now find the remaining blues and get a strong board at 5-box...he says we don't want to hit either big sum of money.

The board is looking much more fragile, Noel says...Roy admits you can't deny that, but £75,000 is still a lot of money...Noel says we've been waiting a long time for someone to make a huge gamble at 2-box, and he thinks that if Roy keeps playing, he could be the one to do it....the banker rings and says that he agrees, except Roy is not going to keep playing.

Roy says he was expecting a little higher, but it's a lot of money...Ashleyne reminds him that there's only 1 amount higher, but Claudia balances it by saying that the £10k and the £5k aren't much less...Noel asks if she'd deal, and she says absoloutely not...Roy says it's a very difficult one to call...£12,000 is a lot, but as he said earlier in the game, the oppurtunity of an amount of money £75,000 isn't worth selling away for a much smaller sum...he throws his head back, nods, and says he's ready....

Noel says that this a fantastic finish...are you going to go all the way now? he asks Roy...Roy says it depends on the offer. Noel asks Nancy if she's keeping up, and says she think so! Noel says there are now three sums of money in Roy's life...£5,000, £75,000, and something in between. The banker rings and says that the player has gotten to this stage and sold £75,000 for £15k before...he says he has a feeling he could pitch the offer quite low and still get Roy out, but he's not taking a risk...

Roy thanks the banker and says it's fantastic...he says he's not sure if it's good enough as he desperately wants that £75,000...he says Soloman is the only player to go to the end and get a huge sum, but when he did, he was garunteed £20,000...Roy wants to take the risk and show people it pays off....he thinks about it and Ashleyne asks what £31,000 could do for him...she tells him to think about all the things they could buy or sort out, and ask if it's worth giving it up...Roy goes up to Ashleyne and thanks her...he says he's ready

Roy says

The player look thrilled, especially Ashleyne...Noel congratules Roy and Nancy, but now says that Ashleyne could have in fact talked Roy out of £75,000!
