Az's game today.

Noel talks about Maud's game yesterday, and how she missed out on the oppurtunity of £75,000...he says the £250,000 has only been in the players box once so far, and the 1p has yet to make an appearence on the pound table! We look at the 22 sums of money on the board...



Az has box 3 today! Azim Ahmed is a 34-year old chef from London...Az talks about how his family originally moved to London from Pakistan, but he has always lived in this country. We meet his wife, Eman, who is in the audience today. Az shows us some pictures of his two children, he says they're the most important thing in his life. Az says he'd love to go travelling and him and Eman would like to take their children to Pakistan for a while....they also want to do the less exciting thing of redoing their kitchen!

Az has no target, and no system...you're playing the game completley spontaneously, Noel says! Az agrees and confirms he chose Box 3 at random

Az says he has a weird thing about numbers, and he doesn't like having both even and odd numbers in the same round, so he says he won't mix them up...very bizarre, says Noel!

Az says he's disappointed that he found the £250,000, but it's still a good board. Noel makes an example of Billy's game and talks about how he managed to get a really strong board without the £250,000...the banker rings and says that Maud's defeat has put him in a fantastic mood! He's ready to beat good old Azim today as well....

The board is still pretty good, but not great, Az says...the banker rings and he says that he thinks that will be the tagline for Az's game - "pretty good, but not great"...the banker expects that's how Az will see this offer, though it's actually a very high one....

Az thinks about it...Mary-Louise says it's actually quite a good offer, as he found the £75,000 in the last round...Robbie says he's showing Az a level of respect, and he should respectfully decline it...

Shame we had to lose the £35,000, but it's by no means a disaster, Noel says. Az agrees and smiles to his wife...the banker rings and says that Az has hit a power of 5 amount in every round so far, and he says it's very risky to go on!

The audience applaud that, and Az looks quite impressed. He asks Lucy, who says that £8,000 is a lot of money...she says she's really bad at advice so can only give out cliche phrases...she tells him that there's good reason to deal and to go on. Az checks with Eman, who says that if he hits another power of 5 amount, the offer won't be as high....Az agrees...he sits down and looks at the board for a while, then asks for the question.

Not a good round, Noel says...the banker rings and says that Az should have listened to his wife, who told him that if he found either, the offer wouldn't be as high...the banker tells Az that he WILL find the £100,000 in the next round....

Az says he thinks that's a harsh offer...Lola points out that just because he's found a power of 5 amount in every round so far doesn't mean he'll find the £100,000 next...she says the banker is messing with his head and trying to get him to deal for a low offer.

Massive cheers...Az gives her a kiss on the cheek and takes a deep breath...he says there's only one even number left...Robbie wishes him the best of luck

We were so close, Noel says....Liz tells Az that there is still £20,000 on the board...the banker rings and says that this game has been great, finding a huge sum in every single round until the board is weak, and the player wins £5....

Az thinks about that...he says he doesn't want to just keep going until all the reds are gone...he says £1,200 is a lot better than £5, and he talks about Maud yesterday saying that the amounts on the board are just potential, but this £1,200 is real, and there for him to take. Keith says that he thinks it's worth going on...Az says that if he were not the player, he'd say go on, but it's real money....

Az says

Az apologizes to everyone and says that he doesn't feel great about Box 3 today, and when you compare it to £250,000, £1.2k isn't a lot money, but by itself, it really is, and it'll help his family a lot. Noel tells Az to prove it was a good decision....

Noel congratulates Az, who says £1,200 is a nice sum of money. Noel says it wasn't the most financially rewarding game, but perhaps we'll see something quite different tomorrow....
